Re: Rough equipment list, any ideas and help?

I'm camping so need a torch and If it gets gloomy or I fall behind I would need the lights to ride later or safely in the rain.

Re: Rough equipment list, any ideas and help?

The sandals is a good idea, thank you. And yes I will be keeping a diary as well. I wouldn't consider going without a compass and I will be sure to reduce my first aid kit down. Thanks for all your help.

What is the best available repellent anyone knows off and has tried? Anyone have advice what to do when camping in a midge area to try and keep them...

Re: Rough equipment list, any ideas and help?

Any ideas on a suitable tent, I have a 2009 Gelert Solo which from what I can tell is good and also lighter with a smaller pack size than the 2010 version. As I am going in the summer are overshoes necessary or should I just indulge a decent pair of sealskinz waterproof socks?

Re: Rough equipment list, any ideas and help?

Thank you very much for your advice. I currently don't have a date but I am aiming for early-mid summer. As for the Base Layer shorts I prefer to wear baggy shorts over cycle shorts or slightly baggy trousers over cycle shorts...I know this isn't decorum but habits die hard (BMX). As for loading up ...

Re: Rough equipment list, any ideas and help?

Thank you, the mat completely slipped my mind, I'm going in the summer but am trying to be very meticulous with my planning. I need to buy a new multi tool...the other one has mysteriously disappeared so I don't know if it will have a spoke tool or not. A lot of the stuff on that list hasn't even be...

Re: LEJOG on a Raleigh Chopper

Hello, I'm new to this forum and stumbled upon this gem of a thread! This idea seems completely bonkers but I would love to see it in action. Not only am I new to CTC but also JOGLE as I have one planned for the mid summer in aid of the Alzheimer's Society (see my just created blog at http://www.myj...

Re: Some advice needed

On an additional note, I do not mean to berate the author of this thread but a clearer use of language might help when you are using a forum. Also, may I suggest that your son could do a supported ride, with you being the support, if you are worried about him being on his own but feel you can't make...

Re: Some advice needed

I am as new to the Jogle as the writer claims but the parameters she has set seem tight from the research I have done...I will be doing a charity ride for Alzheimer's society but will not aim for 90 Miles a day even in the long days of summer! If you want a decent aluminium tourer...£500 quid gets y...
