Re: Using the Local bike shops!!!!!
Admittedly I only use mine when they can do the things I can't like truing wheels but the service I get is top notch. The rim split on my SS wheel last night so stripped the matching front I hadn't got round to putting on and swapped the rims over and dropped the rear wheel in at 10am this morning, the wheel is back in my hands now. Thumbs up to Cyclelife Bristol.

Re: Metal shards in my brake blocks, help
Had it anytime it rained with Fibrax blocks but that was more due to the fact the rim was very slightly dented and I wasn't in a position to replace the rim. I used to carry a small screwdriver with me to dig the shards out of the blocks. Now I've got a different wheel, the problem has virtually vanished with the same brakeblocks.

Re: Video camera's built into sunglasses
I've bought similar last year. They are based around the software/hardware of the £8 MD80 clones a lot of people bought last year. Yes, you do need a microSD card to record onto and also remember to look slightly below where you want to record as the lens is just above your eyeline.

Re: Wheeling it on - your bike on a ferry
I've added some ferry notches on the handlebars but a small number in comparison to others.
Portsmouth to Le Havre, and conversely
Le Havre to Portsmouth
Harwich to Hook of Holland and back
Torpoint & Saltash for the eclipse
A small rural ferry when in Holland after using no.3
From memory I rode onto the smaller ferries and walked onto the ramp of the larger cross channel ferries as the ramps were wet metal with anti-slip measures for cars etc but not bikes.

Re: The Mystery of The Computer That Thinks it's A Satnav!
My last Sigma wired mount was hidden up the inside of the ahead steerer and with a little bit of attention from a dremel typr tool I sacrificed an ahead spacer for the cable to appear from the stem. All you could see was 2" of cable.

Whilst waiting outside a few shops for a friend, with the bike leaning against the window I was travelling at 56.2mph on my Lidl wireless computer.

Looking at the A&S Police auctions, the prices of bikes weren't what I'd call cheap.

Re: Peugeot Straddle Wire
One solution to the straddle cable issue is to buy some Clarks W6038 straddles or similar and solderless nipples.

In my work I have acquired various coins/tokens of 23mm that work the trolleys. I can't remember the lat time I used a £1/€1 coin in a trolley, current coin in use is a 20JMD and I'm still waiting for somebody to need my trolley and offer a £1 coin for it when I'm using something else.

It's the height above sea level. When you create a route in BH with the elevation button ticked it shows
Total Ascent: 30 ft
Total Descent: 16 ft
Start Elevation: 46 ft
End Elevation: 59 ft
Min Elevation: 35 ft
Max Elevation: 59 ft

Re: Amusing Cycling On The Pavement Story
I encountered a pavement cyclist tonight. Saw him riding across a crossing and turn to come down the road towards my flat door. As I got to the guttter and hopped onto the pavemnt and stopped I left the bike in such a way that there was not quite enough space left for him and he had to stop whcich I could see out of the corner of my eye.

These are quite common as well
You can get similar on Ebay from China for around £8 but with the price 7dayshop are doing them for why bother. You do need a decent card in them as demonstrated below.

I bought a cheap action camera on ebay but it was useless, the picture was all wavey like an out of tune TV.
The class of the card is important here. Class 6 is the best to go for and can be picked for around £10, lesser class cards will record the data at a slower rate. You need to buy microsd class 6 2Gb cards.
