Re: How's your weather?
Rode home at 17:45 in the rain in Bristol, no waterproof gear cause it was dry when I rode to work. There was a headwind at the begining of the commute home but my direction of travel changed and it was behind me I guess. Worst bit of the ride was the first ten minutes as I went from dry to wet, once wet I knew it wouldn't be any wetter. Not too cold either, in fact I undid the zip on my jersey which helped when it came to putting my clear glasses somewhere as I got to a point in my ride where oncoming traffic would be a lot closer. Shoes on the boot dryer along with my gloves and the wet kit should have gone in the washing machine but is in a damp pile in front of the washing machine still

Re: 2021 Flu Jab
Had my flu jab a month ago after my Dad mentioned he had his booked, I went into my local Boots and booked mine in late August for late September. My Dad's was cancelled by the GP surgery but he managed to rebook for a few days later with no issue in Bristol. I've only tried once to book my booster and failed.

Re: Best kit for bleeding Tektro disc brakes?
My first bleedkit came from Epic back in the days when I had Taiwanese semi-hydraulic callipers and still used the same kit on my Shimano brakes. I have bought another kit for my Sram brakes to avoid cross contamination as they use different types of brake fluid.

Re: Delivery riders - dangerous riding
The scooter riders in Bristol love driving on the pavement showing little respect for the pedestrians. There are two locations where they do it, one location will save a few minutes getting back to the location where they collect orders from, the other location saves them no time as it's outside the golden arches place. Any I see and capture on video gets reported to the local police.

Re: Farm Lane Compton Greenfield- Cycle works
I came down the hill from the pub through this cycle lane on Sunday and didn't feel comfortable because of the fallen leaves and wet road surface, my top speed coming down the hill was only 22mph. With road traffic using the road the leaf mulch would be cleared by the tyres.

Re: Edge 1030 trim a ride
Trim the ride in Connect and save then delete the ride from the 1030. Download the trimmed ride from Connect to the 1030 connected to your PC and save it in activities folder where all rides are stored, I think.

Re: London Trip
Only got to the new cycleways as I approached Greenwich but they were shut even though they looked complete. When I rode to Greenwich two years ago there were no cyleways along the A200 towards Deptford.Paradiddle wrote: ↑20 Sep 2021, 3:50pm Sounds like a great day out and a nice sightseeing route around London.
I'm also wondering about the route you took from Richmond to Greenwich. Did you take any of the cycleways from East to West?

Re: London Trip
An update to this from my journey on 1st September.
Had to reserve seats and space for baike and had concerns about bike being out of sight on train, this proved unfounded as the trainset was a 5 carriage train, not 9 carriages as originally planned so seat reservations were'nt recognised so I ended up sitting 6' from my bike on both legs of the journey
Rode from Paddington to Richmond Park via Hammersmith Bridge, a quick lap of Richmond Park then onto Greenwich but not on the route I had planned on the Garmin. Got to the Observatory after walking from the main road but couldn't get to the meridian line as I didn't want to pay. Decided it was too tight timewise for Woolwich Ferry so headed across the river via the foot tunnel after carrying my bike down and back up the stairs cause the lifts were out of action. Followed my nose along the river back to Aldgate then onto Soho and Paddington. A total of 45 miles in London that took a leisurely 5 1/2 hours.

Re: Post-Brexit - buying bike parts abroad . . (incl. Rose/DutchBikeParts)
I ordered a chainset from Mantel last Wednesday and it was delivered on Friday, 48 hours from Holland to Bristol but it did cost me £10. Mantel are only dealing with orders for less than £135 exc. shipping
Due to uncertainties surrounding import duties and customs formalities, it is currently only possible to place orders with a total value (excluding shipping costs) of less than £135.
This means that all products costing more than £135 cannot be placed in the shopping basket. Additionally, if the value of your basket is over £135, the payment option will not appear.
This situation will remain the same until we get further clarity from the UK government and our shipping partners.

Re: Parts from the UK
Since it was launched I've been wanting Sram Rival AXS, the new cheaper eTap groupset. Everywhere I looked was showing long delivery times and I was messaging one of the staff at Zyro, the importers via social media, who was saying deliveries coming in weren't enough to fulfil retail orders.
This week, however, by going to three different retailers I have managed to get hold of a complete groupset, albeit without the rotors as I'll use my current rotors. All stock came from UK retailers apart from the chainset which came from Holland 48 hours after ordering it.
