Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Let's get that intellectual giant David Davis on the the task of negotiating Brexit, after all he must know all the ins and outs after being the Brexit bloke.. He obviously has been talking to the bloke down the pub and now knows what should be done "If we need to leave with no deal and negotia...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

I avoid the discussion over whether Brexit was a good idea or not mostly because the referendum has already been done. I posted plenty on the subject prior to that. Brexit means Brexit and you don't care if it is good or bad for the country or what flavour it is. Not really much point in posting an...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Are you a convert away from democracy yet? If the majority of the electorate are blind and idiotic, it doesnt seem like a very good system of government. Depends, are you talking about now or at the time of the referendum? Various leavers originally made lots of win-win statements, but as far as I ...

Re: The IMF Speaks: The Tories got it wrong with Privatisation

The privatization ideology is spent and dead. Until state ownership gets over-heavy, self-serving, sclerotic and dismissive of the customer (remember those telephone boxes?). And no-one is proposing that the cycle industry is nationalised! That may have been true at one time, but by the time they w...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

The Brexit plan was quite clear, everyone including every single remainer knows exactly what it is. The difficult part has been getting the EU to agree to continue free trade whilst we trade freely on agreed terms with whomsoever else we want to, control our own borders and fisheries and restore th...

Here's some pseudoscience for you disproving the link between "greenhouse gases" and climate change.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Significant planning is going on to prepare the NHS for the prospect of a no-deal Brexit, including securing continuation of medical supplies, the head of the health service has said. Concerns have been raised that if Britain leaves the EU without a deal, disruption to imports of drugs and medical ...

Re: compulsary bells back on the agenda!

I find bells are more useful off road. But considering bells with a good ping cost under a fiver just what is all the fuss about? You can ring your bell at me as much as you like and I wouldn't hear it. Using your voice or a brake pedal would be much more effective. If you can't hear a bell how can...

Re: Retitled - Collision: whose fault?

Has anyone mentioned Rule 167: DO NOT overtake where you might come into conflict with other road users. For example when a road user is indicating right, even if you believe the signal should have been cancelled. Do not take a risk; wait for the signal to be cancelled By my reckoning that makes it ...

Re: Impending conversation with my wife

It's difficult, because I've known my wife for twenty five years and have never *ever* managed to change her mind on anything... She hasn't ridden a bike since she was a teenager: she's a regular motorist and has convinced herself that the roads are terrifyingly dangerous for cyclists. It occurs to...
