Re: Impending conversation with my wife

If motor cycle helmets restricted vision in a way that affected driving they would be illegal for all types of driving. In any case they don't restrict vision. Firstly, some motorcycle helmets are not road legal and only for track racing. Secondly, I'm pretty sure that even the road legal ones rest...

Re: Impending conversation with my wife

Tell her to stop nagging and show her the evidence you've taken the trouble to read for yourself. That's what i did with my wife a few years ago, I'm still waiting for her to do it. I'd also question how many people she's seen sprawled on the road after coming off on their bike, I can only remember...

Re: what's going on with framebuilder steve goff?

Sounds like a case of over promise and under deliver.

Have you asked him when he expects to start your frame? This would at least give you some leverage should you decide to take to small claims?

"Police are warning drivers their cars will be ticketed and removed if they block pavements to pram pushers and other pedestrians. Officers in Oldham say those on foot are being forced into a busy road near Greenfield Station and put a warning on Facebook to remind drivers of the consequences.&...

Re: Rack ... How much !!

Ask the commuters who are now forced to use the new Thameslink trains with the "wooden" seats if they think new=better. Some are reported taking cushions to sit on! Apparently they will get more comfortable with use according to the Transport Minster :) https://www.telegraph.co.uk...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

I sometimes suspect that most brexiters don't really comprehend the huge numbers of areas it impacts on. I expect that is true of Remain voters too. Perhaps the matter was a little complex to be settled by a referendum. I didn't and still don't know or understand all the issues, however I knew that...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - or whatever...

And since you didn't take the hint, what is this to do with Brexit? Does it matter whether posts on this thread have anything to do with Brexit? I'd have thought that after 355 pages of the most tedious bickering, mostly about that dismal topic, a bit of diversion is light relief.... Oh, so ...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

the reason why Germany should be held up as an "example" is that the country is so well off with budget surpluses yet if you read the article I mentioned dont seem to have the forces to be able to fulfill their responsibilities? And since you didn't take the hint, what is this to do with ...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

well the EU shouldnt depend on the Germans to defend them when the UK leaves the EU? "Poland's right-wing Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki suggested on Thursday, on the eve of a visit to Berlin, that Germany is a NATO "free rider" that spends too little on collective defence" h...

Re: Tax - Marriage Allowance

Re: Did I do something wrong?

To be clear: don't do what that video says. Much of it is incorrect. Look instead for the great advice from Cyclecraft, Bikeability and even BC's ambassador Chris Boardman which describes better ways. Shouldn't you be providing links on what you think the best practice is and explaining the differe...
