Re: Parking in Penrith or Carlisle
Thanks for the reply eileithyia. We wont be stopping the night before - we aim to drive up there first thing and then set off straight away, so thats not an option unfortunatly.

Parking in Penrith or Carlisle
A couple of friends and I are doing a lake district loop tour at the end of next month. We are travelling up by car and need somewhere safe to leave it for 4/5 days. Can anyone recommend somewhere safe or secure to leave the vehicle?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: To sell or not to sell
I might be interested in your Roberts if you decide to sell. Although I do think you should keep them both.

Re: Starting LEJOG in 15days starting training yesterday..
Dont listen to your friends you can do it. :) Seriously, you have left things a bit late, ahermm. However I suppose it depends on how fit you really are...... of course there is no substitute for time on the bike. I would suggest that you dont go flat out mad in the run up as you will be knackered b...

Re: Thinking of doing LEJOG
As a relatively inexperienced solo tourer I'm considering the CTC 17 day tour next year. Has anyone any experience of this, good or bad?

Not cycle specific, but touring/general winter wear try PHD. Top top quality and made in Cheshire:

Bamburgh Camp site needed
I'm off to do a circular route around Northumberland next week over 4 days and could do with a campsite near Bamburgh. Preferably one within striking distance of a pub!
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Dawes Super Galaxy v Tricross Sport
Hi. Thanks for the replys - apologies for not finding the earlier post. I guess its really down to opinion at the end of the day - we are so overwhelmed by choice these days. It's not really a matter of opinion, pete, they are factually two very different bikes. Cyclo cross matches modern commuting...

Dawes Super Galaxy v Tricross Sport
Right, I've narrowed my search down to 2 bikes - do I go Dawes or Specialzed? I want a 'do it all' bike for mostly day rides up to 60 miles, the odd track and bridleway and occasional short camping trips (and a LeJoG in 2012) - I'm something of a traditionalist (I like steel and have a beard), but d...
