Hasn't happened to me since I started cycling again about 7 months ago. Knock on wood.

Re: Rim Tape

Thanks for posting. I realise that I tend to have too many questions on subjects that I am interested in. Of course, I wouldn't expect any one reply to address all the questions that I might have; it's not an exam question, after all. :P What I seem to have understood from your replies and someone e...

Re: Widening forks/frames for bigger tyres

I would like to ask: What is the best rim tape to use in this case? Should I use the high pressure stuff? What would be a good material? What width of rim tape should I get for my (559-21) rims? Are 2 rim tapes, one on top of another ever a good idea? Is it critical to get the right length of rim ta...

Rim Tape

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask some questions about rim tape. I am replacing the tyres on my MTB and was told that it would be best to get some new rim tape to prevent spoke induced punctures. Re: Widening forks/frames for bigger tyres

Thanks for the replies guys. I had a better look on the net and came across a lot of options for a back tyre replacement. Whilst I understand that there is no need to go that thick (2"), I need a back tyre which will not look out of place with the fat frank that I have already bought for my fro...

Re: Widening forks/frames for bigger tyres

Thanks for the suggestions guys. First of all let me tell you that I have a bad back. I first got my MTB because it was the the best compromise between price and quality I could get. It's a Dawes XC-1.0 MTB, nothing special about it. It does shift gears just fine and I'm rather happy with it all in ...

Widening forks/frames for bigger tyres

Hi everyone, This is my first post, so please take it easy. I have been reading posts on here and have found a lot of useful information. I decided that I wanted to put schwalbe fat frank (ETRTO ( 60-559 )) tyres on my MTB for commuting comfort. I have found that they will fit my rims (559-21). The ...
