TI Raleigh bike - which frame

I bought a TI Raleigh bike on ebay last year, which has had a respray (no frame number available but had it security tagged and police didn't quibble ...). the bike runs like a dream but I'd like to know what frame it has - is there a way of determining whether it's got the upper end of market Reyno...

Re: touring bike with hub gears

a few updates/comments. Bought a Cube Hooper with 8 speed Alfine - great bike, has all the right setups for touring luggage, extraordinary tyres (ca. £40 a pop). One contributor mentioned wheelchange being a 'pig'. Comment from me - on my recent C2C folding bike ride (yes, on a folder) I usged my Ri...

C2C on folding bikes

Hi folks just wanted to let you know that I've just come back from cycling the C2C on folding bikes. We met in 2009 to ride the first (apparently) London to Paris ride on folders (an organised charity ride with 30 participants), did that in 4 days and had so much fun that some of us (never met befor...

Re: Bike to work scheme changes

haven't read the entire thread, but a) if this is how it's going to work in the future, it might be the deathnail of the C2W scheme. In addition, people on current schemes may well argue that this would create a 'change of contract', if the employer hasn't spelled out this process at the beginning. ...

sat nav for bike

I am trying to find an affordable (second hand?) satnav to fit on my bike for touring. Currently using my Garmin Quest with a bike fitting, which isn't ideal (no way to power the thing so runs on batteries ... also quite bulky. Can anyone recommend something that is smaller, can take maps of mapping...

Re: touring bike with hub gears

it's getting a bit silly ... Had a proper look at the VSF Fahrradmanufaktur bike whilst in my home town of Bonn in Germany, nnnnnice ... :D . Happened to walk into a bike store in Hereford on Saturday and saw the Cube Hooper, equally nnnnnnice, but for the same price doesn't have the mudguards, and ...

Re: touring bike with hub gears

Have now found this http://www.marin.co.uk/2010/bikepage.php?ModNo=10AA which sounds good (not sure about the colour which is silver only). If I go down the hub gear route then I'll probably go for an existing 8 speed (e.g. the Shimano Alfine) and wait until I've paid that one off (buying through cy...

Re: touring bike with hub gears

obviously hit the spot with some of you guys. My next question is ... are there any bikes around that have e.g. the 8 speed Shimano fitted (rather than me having to have one custom made)?

Also ... does anyone know a good bike dealer in the Worcester(shire) area?

thanks

touring bike with hub gears

Hi everyone this is my first post, so hopefully I'm in the right place. I am thinking of buying a new bike, probably a touring bike in the summer (cycle to work scheme). I currently have an old (but in good condition) road bike and a Ridgeback folder with Shimano Nexus 7 speed hubs. I do really like...
