Hi I am building up a cyclo cross bike which I will be using for commuting (partly normal tarmac, partly tracks) and need some tyres which stand up to the term 'cyclo cross'. A friend suggested these http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/p/3657/schwalbe-cx-comp-700c-tyre , anyone has any other suggestion...

Re: Dahon frame knackered - where do I go next?

Interestingly/sadly I have a frame problem, too. I won't start by ranting about DAhon because this is my third Dahon in 5 years and they all have been fine. This one I bought on the cycle to work scheme from J E James in Rotherham, a Mu XL sport with 8 internal Shimano gears. Lovely to ride until re...

Re: tyre coming off rim ...

took wheel and tyre back to shop, we both inspected tyre - it was damaged (possibly from the start). Got replacement tyre, see what happens. Thanks for your comments.

Re: tyre coming off rim ...

just to say that I have used a variety of Schwalbe tyres and this has never before happened to me. Whether they were Lugano, Marathon Plus, Marathon Supremes ... no problem. I'm going to take the wheel with the tube to the shop tomorrow (took the tube out and it had a rather large hole in it ...). T...

Re: tyre coming off rim ...

hmmm. New-ish tyre and it's a 700c tyre (and the front wheel/tyre doesn't have that problem). Will try the trapped wind issue ...

tyre coming off rim ...

Hi i recently bought a new road bike from my local dealer and run Schwalbe Lugano tyres (23) on the rims (came with the bike). On two occasions the rear tyre has come off the rim (about 5-10 cm), on the second occasion two days ago causing a puncture in the tube. I have no idea why this should have ...

Re: Ti aggro rear mech - 9 or 10 speed

I trust them - all the owner said was "it may be a problem, but if it IS I'll keep the new derailleur and give you the money as I'm using these on other bikes" - so no risk for me.

Re: Ti aggro rear mech - 9 or 10 speed

10 speed tiagra mech will work fine (same shift ratio as 9 speed) shimano don't list spec's for their latest 4601gs model, but it seems it will cope with 32t max (double) or 30t max (triple) have you tried your existing mech with a 30? shimano spec's are quite conservative. What about the chain - I...

Ti aggro rear mech - 9 or 10 speed

Hi everyone, I have recently bought an almost new Dawes Audax frame set, built up with new bits all round, including a tiara group set. It runs with a cassette with 25T but want to change to a 30. The mech is a sort cage, so can't cope with a 30 or even 28, so need a medium/long cage. The only Tiagr...

Having used the bike with the hub in situ, great stuff. Drag not really noticeable, lights I bought with the hub working very well and bright.

price of a Reynolds 531 frame

I have a complete bike for sale here (TI Raleigh road bike), which has been resprayed (by previous owner). I've traced it back to 3/1973 so Nottingham factory. If I was to break it up and sold the frame on its own, any idea what a reasonable asking price would be?

thanks

Martin
