Re: Full route

Hi mike777, I did JOGLE in 13 days in June/July this year and I'm VERY pleased that I did it this way round as it meant that our families and friends could see us over the line at Land’s End. When the going got tough, and it did occasionally, it was one of the things that kept me going. We didn't no...

Re: Support drivers over-protective?

My dad drove the luggage, spares etc. in our support van. When we set off he waited half an hour then caught up with us, passed us, and waited 10 or 20 miles down our route. Once we had gone passed him again, he'd wait a few minutes, catch up with us then pass us and wait 10 or 20 miles down our rou...

Re: 2500 miles LEJOG and back in 20 days

decided it was no longer fun.... Well don Pizza_man, the whole point of any leisure ride* is to have fun... If you’re not, STOP, and reassess your journey. I think your course of action is a good lesson to any new rider... you don't need to keep going "for the sake of it" Stop when you ne...

Re: Urgent advice needed for saddle sores!

I did a 13 day JOGLE and applied Sudocreme everyday before setting off.
On day one and two it rained almost constantly and by day three I was REALLY sore.
I found that applying Sudocreme every 15-20 miles helped and although the sores didn't clear, it remained bearable for the final 10 days!!!

I did this route:

A9 all the way, it was a little busy in places (From Cromarty Firth, up the hill past Duncanston), but not the worst road we used.

Heres a pic of the bridge into Inverness:

I start my JOGLE a week on Sunday and I'm keeping an eye on the long range forecast:

that then brings in the thorny question exercised here recently on whether your sponsors should be funding the actual ride cost ... or whether the rider pays the costs and sponsors' money ALL goes to the cause. I viewed it as two very separate entities: Corporate sponsorship... I was upfront with a...

Re: Mike's JOGLE

80 mile training ride to Chester today, I'd planned to do a little detour on the way back to increase my mileage, but the weather was atrocious so I came back the same route I went! Less than 6 weeks to my JOGLE now, so only 5 more training rides to go, I'm beginning to think I wish I'd booked it e...

Re: Corportate Sponsorship

Not my choice either to be honest but Cancer Research colours are pink and blue... I've kept the same colour scheme for the website and jerseys. What can I do? At least we'll be seen!!! Anyway, the quality is great, we went for Coolmax, 3/4 zip, short sleeved with rear pockets. We also have differen...

We have managed to get £2,500 in Corporate with the promise/possibility of £2,000 more about to come in (I hope). I promised them a logo on our website and on our cycling jerseys...
