Re: JOGLE June/July 2011

I think I'll have to spend the next three weeks doing the final touches and polishing my beach buggy ready for when I get back... I won't be cycling anywhere for a couple of weeks after this :) ... I made a promised to m...

‎3 weeks tomorrow I'll be travelling to Edinburgh. On the Saturday I'll be heading from Edinburgh to John O'Groats and on the Sunday I start the ride.... 965 Miles all the way down to Land’s End. With the promise of more corporate sponsorship, my total's close to £9,200... I'm getting close to my £1...

Re: Scary things

When it passed I saw what it had happened - it was a K-reg Renault full of youths, and as such, the engine noise when revved is rather less refined than a more modern vehicle. Because it was full of youths  I'm not sure, but I don't think the age of the driver would have made the engine soun...

Cheryl Cole has been dropped from the US The X Factor! jonty Well well Jonty, Considering you're supposed to be someone with a disinterest and apathy towards "who's doing what in celeb world" (see http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=51432&p=427508#p427508) you are well in...

Re: Football Bores

Okay, I have a confession...I am a footieholic. I sleep, eat, drink, watch, play and talk football. What a bore  :D Me too. The thing that really makes me laugh is the general thought on this thread, of the "Tribal Football Fan" being an oaf whilst spouting how much better us cyclis...

Re: JOGLE June/July 2011

I'm bumping this just in case someone spots a glaring error! As I said in my OP, daily destinations are set as accommodation’s booked, but I'll change the daily route if you say that I'm going down a farm lane (we are on road bikes) or crossing a motorway etc. I've lived with this for just under a y...

Get on the sleeper from Inverness, get off at Penzance, Now I wouldn't want to put a damper on your enthusiasm, but you do realise the sleeper from Inverness doesn't stop at Penzance? Apart from that minor point, minimal planning is the way to go, enjoy yourself. :D :D I'd start planning if ...

Re: Bike racks

I can't help specifically, but we have a tow-bar mounted rack. Perfect and easy to use, with the advantage of being able to go on any subsequent cars we may own as we will always want a tow-bar on any car. Have you thought of one? Here's the one we bought: http://www.leisureshack.co.uk/thule-9502-r...
