At a price I imagine.

Re: togglechaintour bikes
Does this qualify for "Run What You Brung"?

Not mine, but I'm aiming to have one by TCT, assuming I make it..

Re: togglechaintour bikes
Not been here much, bit to catch up on. Currently not sure about making next years tour as I'm moving over to Ireland, my Dad is extremely unwell.. Bikes are coming with me, although I may be selling some odds & sods (possibly including the Holdsworth frameset) before I go in mid-Jan..
Have a good christmas & new year!

Re: togglechaintour bikes
Rob,
if Steve doesnt come up with the goods, I may have a chain case from a Ladies Enfield. I'll have to check however, I can't remember if it's fully enclosed or a "hockey-stick"
Anyone going to Harrogate on Wednesday? Stay away from 293, 294, 642 and 643 please

Loverly Robin Hood,
I'm also very jealous..
Pictures of Humber No. 2 coming shortly, work on Humber No. 1 to commence soonish (Raleigh Superbe 1st..).. In the meantime, bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a spare set of Humber Duplex forks?
Grazzi mille!

Re: togglechaintour bikes
I did at least take a bow upon my return to the correct turning point!
I've still not replaced that block yet either.. I did find the dead one in my saddle bag earlier in the week and I'm thinking about framing it as a prize for next year!

The weather was too good to be in the garage fitting Kool Stop brake blocks. So, accompanied by a pair of cheese sandwiches I took my roadster for a ride. The first ten miles or so were up the Culm valley (adjacent to M5) using a B road on a bus route. I was quite relieved not to have ended up as roadkill. The middle bit was along the canal towpath. The first photo is at Halberton and clearly shows a cheese sandwich beneath the flap of the saddle bag (this feature is absent in the later picture). I spotted a kingfisher, who was definitely not posing for a photo today, and had a chat with an elderly gent walking along the path with the aid of two sticks -the sight of my bike having triggered a reminiscence about a Rudge he rode in the thirties. After a lengthy uphill push I paused for air and a photo before an alarming descent into Silverton and home. I think I should attend to the brake blocks now.
I am exceedingly envious. I've spent all day with screaming children and an unappreciative boss.

Oh yes, it is!!
I had my finger hovering over the Buy It Now button for about 3 days on that one, but just couldn't justify spending £125 right now![]()
Glad to see it's gone to a good home though.![]()
Gavin
I only spotted it last night, whilst searching for Rims for the Holdsworth (you were right about them Mike, I've seen more rocking horse crap..) - at £125, it did'nt take long for me to pull the trigger. I've paid for it in ear-ache already.. Apparently I have to sell a bike every time I buy a bike from now on, time to start storing one or two at work methinks!

Re: togglechaintour bikes
Someone really needs to post something, otherwise the "Lets have more fun thread" is going to catch us up..
I missed the bike show over the weekend, other wise having a very successful weekend picking up nearly all the missing parts for the Holdsworth, so in no particular order, here's whats going on to it:
Sturmey Archer FM Hub (Ebay)
Brampton Headset (Original)
Bayliss-Wiley Bottom Bracket (Original)
Williams 46t Chainset (Ripley)
GB "Hiduminium" Stem (Ripley)
GB roughly period-correct Randonneur Bars (my mate John)
Roughly period-correct alloy seatpost (forget the name, Birmalux?) my mate John again
Sturmey 4-Speed Trigger with window (John..)
Frame came back from the blasters today, so have been putting the first coat on.. Ivory lugs, with British Racing Green tubes & gold lining..
Currently missing a saddle & rims (seen some on ebay, although they are in Germany.) - I do have an existing front wheel, but if I win the rims, I'll sell it to make some of the money back

Re: togglechaintour bikes
Loving that colour, I must say and really glad you like it
Holdsworth was due back from the blasters last night, but he annoyingly forgot I was coming to collect it & had pissed off home.. He's giving a me a discount though as he felt guilty when I phoned & moaned.
Brakes won on ebay, should be in the post.. I wont say what they are yet, suffice to say they cost more than the frame-set!

Me too. Got a nice GB stem for the Clubman the other day which looks a treat. A set of GB brakes would complete the set nicely. if I spot two pairs, I'll give you the nod
Yea, I have a GB stem as well, I've spent this evening faffing with it, gave it a minor polish before lining the point, just experimening with colour schemes at the moment!
