Lidl Tool Kit ny Good

Hi as the title says, I've seen the tool kit for sale from Thursday and wondered if anbody had bought one and used it and what's in it. Been thinking about doing a little more maintenance myself and is this a good starter kit to get me going.

Thanks

Topeak Handlebar Bag

Hi,

Just done a two day WOR from Morecambe 2 Bridlington, my wife bought me the Topeak RX seat post rack and bag also the large handlebar bag and mount. From the minute I set off the handle bar bag kept slipping down at one point rubbing on the front tyre. I had used the correct spacer for my handlebars, fitted everything as per instuctions luckily a couple of guys I met had some large rubber bands that I managed to stretch from brake lever to lever to stop it slipping.

Has anybody else experianced problems with Topeak handlebar bags slipping?? Before I get a reply what was in the bag was it too heavy, on the last day I had 2 jam sarnies in it a banana a spare pair of glasses and 2 protein bars.

Re: ...about removal of cycle grease from hi-vis fabrics ??

Not sure which way round but I tried this years ago and it worked. It has to be done as soon as possible;

Rub talc over the grease, then rub in fairy liquid rinse under the tap with warm water Voila!

Like I said it may be the other way round ie fairy then talc, but it does work.

Rear mech won't return

Apologies if this has been covered, I've had a look but can't find anything.

Had a new cassette and chain fitted about 6/8 weeks ago, I have SIS down tube shiftres on my bike all has been fine up to the last week and for some reason the chain will not return to the smaller cogs as easy as they go up. The bike hasn't been dropped or knocked plus it's on a stand when not in use. Any ideas on how to fix it. I have tried to adjust the barrell adjuster, the chain will go up the cassette and there's alot of slack on the cable, when the chain is on the large cog.

Thanks

Lightweight Upgrades

Hi all I've just rebuilt a Fort frame and I would like to reduce the weight a little more,so could anybody recommend a lightweight road saddle preferably a white one, a set of carbon forks 1" not 1and 1/8th also a set of handle bars. I haven't got a large budget as the kids get more pocket money than me!! I may even go for second hand (if they are in good nick) if anybody has got anything. I would love to add some before and after pics but I'm not sure how to do it.Cheers

Measurement for stem

Strange question but where are the measurements taken from to determine the length of the stem.

Re: BETTER THAN A PENSION

I can't believe it, I sent him a question asking if he'd be interested in swop for a thumb of an old boxing glove and a picture of my grandma on the wall of death. What no reply

Powder coated frame

I've just collected my frame after having it blasted and powder coated, whilst they have done an excellent job on the frame some of the coating has got into the bottom bracket shell, would a competent bike shop be able to clean the thread and face before fitting a new bottom bracket?

Thanks for the replies regarding a set of decals for the frame I had a set made up from Wanit and very good they are too, highly recommend Rob. I will post some picks of the bike when it is completed. Suppose I could do a before and after article.

Fort Frame Rebuild

Hi All,

First post so I hope I get lucky, not sure if I'm in the right section, I have just had a fort frame powder coated and I would like to replace the decals with some original if possible but if not replica ones. My question is where can I get the originals from and I have tried Fort direct but I'm not having much look, I 've also tried a guy in Cumbria he does everything ut fort decals !!
So can anybody recommend a decal maker.

Cheers in anticipation
