Re: Bad drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THC
thats brillant. you should mail that to quetin tarantino and he could put a nice spin in it.

nothing to do with bicycles....
when i was working in new zealand. we had a nice car park that could fit all the employees in with room to move. the company down the road used to come block us in, park where ever they wanted. now.. that might slide over here where a parking spot is like gold and everybody fights for spots. but in NZ they were just being pricks considering the whole street was park able. the manager of the other company was consistantly parking there blocking my motorbike in. whats a guy to do?

well as i was a foreman at an engineering shop i had two of my guys build a lifting frame that could be slid under his car and i used one of our 100ton mobile cranes. had my guys move their cars set up the crane lifted this guys 200ft up in the air and hung it over the vacant lot next door. he stormed into my office demanding info on who stole his car.. he didnt have a fore thought to associate the crane with his incompetence. i just pointed up and the face on him i tell ya.

i instructed him to call the cops, and informed him that this whole yard is watched by CCTV so dont mess with anything. and drove home to the poetic sound of him whaling in the back ground.

i stopped to tell him that my crane driver had worked the maximun shift allowable and he would be back tomorrow.

the birds stopped landing in the car park point made!!!

revenge is priceless!!!

Re: Bad drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what about those flame throwers they made for cars in jo-berg in south africa. to stop the snobby rich people from getting mugged at traffic lights. maybe a smaller version.

i'd prefer steel capped cycle shoes so i can leave a mark

there was a case in canada were an elderly woman was knocked down by a car. the female driver was on the phone talking to the police about two crashes she was involved in in the last week. she didnt notice killing the cyclist and her reply in court was the cyclist should have been more careful.

i would have donated the bullet to the judge to get ridd of her.

Re: Bad drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

try riding in royal tunbridge wells. i somehow found my self living here. the rich folk are strange. porsche must have a section in the owners manual "do what ever you want while driving. you are driving a rather smart car and you do look amazing in it."

one old bat with the top down in a slow moving line up turned, eye balled me just off left side(cos the van in front blocked my path) stuck her nose up and turned directly into me. sunk my boot into her car. proceeded as follows

her, "did you just hit my 911?"
me, "no i kicked it"
her, "how dear you damage my husbands car while i was turning"
me, "sorry didnt see you there... funny does your husband know your going to see mr williamson at such an odd hour???"

i seen the name 'Mr Wiliamson' posted on the gate post. her face dropped like a ton of bricks.

i slap smach hit kick yell at motorists. hey if i were a car you would owe me a new bumper and fender.

a hammer theres an idea.

i agree with mattydeez ripping the traffic up is enjoyable.

i was riding through the USA in the middle of denver city i smached the back of a car that cut me and pushed me into the path of and 18 wheeler(luckily the truck hadn't started moving yet) driver slamed on the brakes, got out and started cracking on. unbeknown to all of us a undercover cop was behind us he walked up asked our names. told the driver what a stupid idiot he was hit the opposite side of the car and said "there it matches now"

problem solved. i rode off wide eyed and was convinced the cop was cyclist too!!!

Re: Netherlands cycling maps

check this site out has good info on netherlands. www.cycletourer.co.uk in regards to map choices,

i did a lap of the netherlands and got caught up in the map scene theres so many different ones,

ANWB is the best i found. www.anwb.nl you'll have to translate using google as i never found the little english button

this link is a route planner from the above site, with the ability to plan for bike trips. really good.
http://route.anwb.nl/routeplanner/

i have a few maps left,
north holland
amsterdam and surrounding area.
and the whole country "THE NEDERLANDS" da da dahhhhh.

the last map is valuable. is has every route mapped and labelled(allbeit in dutch) but good.

PM if ya want em

i'm not much of a GPS user . but if your buying one just for the netherlands trip i would suggest you save your cash. its so well laid out there maps, signs bridges, traffic lights, all for bikes. bikes have more right of way than cars.

at the major junctions there are maps, all junctions are numbered. i ended up just running with a road book type setup

left 34
straight 35
right second path 36
together with my speedometer

some other tips
=wearing a helmet will have you mocked and laughed at unless your doing 60MPH
=if lost stand in public view mouth wide open and map upside down. the dutch will be running toward you to assist
=look for "barronkamping" signs they're farm stays. super friendly and they make alot of treats to sell you. i rode through in march no campsites open but a knock on a farm stay door had me eating three course meals living in caravans for 15 euro. they wouldnt take any more money!!
= its flat other than the canal bridges but generally you have enough speed to roll over them.
= KEEP RIGHT!!! i had to use a spatular to a brit of the tarmac. keep right especially in the cities the ride like new yorkers drive. constant bell ringing.
= go to the hostels in amsterdam or other big cities find the stand with business card sizes adverts. and take all that you can these are discount vouchers. free entries. etc and worth it of your a sight see-er. i got 2 free passes to the rijks muesum and 4 free beers at a resturant.
= distances increase. you first few days will show you how far you can ride. but not over look the wind flat country with a north sea coast with eyes dried out in no time

whow brought back old memories sorry of the speel.
