Re: Ideas to Consider for Prospective New Tourers

Several requests are made to help formulate plans for new tourers. Before posting future requests, please consider the following:- 1) Abilities of yourself (solo or a group); 2) Types of bike(s) and proposed terrain; 3) Length of tour (time and or miles); 4) Accommodation planned (camp/B&B/host...

Re: Am I mad, newbie tourer

It's not so much about fitness but stamina and what happens to your body, and especially your mind, when you start to get dog tired. The most catastrophic thing is that you becom...

Re: pedels and clips

to be honest I'm scared stiff of falling as I have a new hip and two new knees, I'll probably get flamed for this, but surely it's not worth the risk of clips then? FWIW, I still ride lots (often and sometimes 100ish miles in a day) but I stopped using clips years ago. I second that.....having trie...

Re: Anyone else putting off touring decisions due to Br***t?

Was asked today about my holiday plans for the year (by my hairdresser :D ) and had to say I'd not really got anything planned. "That's not like you!" (makes me wonder if I've banged on about cycle touring just a bit to much...) "No, it's well... I just want to see what happens about...

One bike, that is, so you would need a single cabin.
I have just sent a query to DFDS to confirm/deny this.
I will report back.

Why on earth would you wish to do that?

Re: Churches - interesting

Yes I know there is another thread but that to me seems a tad box ticking. Am more interested in details of intereresting/nice (OK - terrible word I know but it's what I mean) churches, without I stress getting into too learned architectural details where I must admit I tend to switch off. I am a c...
