Re: Removing and refitting rear wheel on bike

If you change onto the smallest sprocket, there's less to get in the way when you are removing and refitting the wheel. Normally I would agree with thirdcrank, but if we are talking your Streetmachine, then its similar to the Grasshopper and I find that the Mech get s in the way, I tend to put it i...

Re: Sanctions?

We had an old chap at work who was, shall we say, slightly eccentric. One day someone said he was mad, to which he replied that he was the only person there who had a certificate to prove he wasn't. :) And I love (and feel it most appropriate) the way you call that chap on here Cudgel   ...

Re: What shorts?

I have a couple of pairs of Troy Lee skyline shorts I quite like they are not as garish as some MTB shorts. Have a Velcro Fly and adjustable waiste band. I never use the padded inserts but they look like reasonable quality. They are £80 pound a pair but I have managed to buy both pairs for around £4...

Re: Maintenance and toolkit when touring

my tool kit is the same from day to day commuting to long distance rides to touring, One tube, puncture repair outfit, parktool multitool 13 inch ring spanner, quicklink cable ties. Tyre boot is an old cycle card, or one of the thinner plasticised cards from my wallet. I would not carry brake blocks...

Re: Frame Warranty

Just purchased a Boardman aluminium frame from circa 2013. Whopping creaking noise from the BB any time I go up a hill. I've read there are a lot of issues with Boardmans of this era. Anyone know the warranty situation? Applicable to original owners only? A 6 year old secondhand frame. Are you talk...

New bike; Pinnacle Arkose R1. Approximately 200 miles. Constant clicking noise when freewheeling, Thanks I really do think you are worrying about nothing, but if you think it really is wrong return to the dealer/lbs and ask , you should be due your first service, which is usually free. Honestly I t...

Usually if the cleats are worn that bad then the shoes are junk as well as the Shoes are worn as well so new cleats will stand proud.

Re: Tory leader - place your bets

I met three old friends last night (funny I never knew I had so many?) I've put them on the spot and asked them which way they were leaning, I expected they would support me, I was not disappointed. First time I ever put someone on the spot about the subject. Oh, probably some of the names mentione...

Re: Another thread about hard tyres to fit and tyre levers

Gatorskin tyres! I thought marathon pluses had the rep for hard tyres to fit but these have proved worse. For me Vittoria hypers were harder than m+ tyres but both of those I got on without using tyre levers. Gatorskin tyres, someone got them on using levers for me. Cue puncture. Actually a patch t...

Re: dozey pedestrians

I use a ping bell, I think they are seen as polite and useful on shared access. My son has a bell of the mechanical dring dring type, a while back we were on a shared path my son was about 10 at the time, we came upon a group of pensioners walking across the entire width of the prom. I told Robert t...

I wouldn't advise drinking from A bidet while stationary even if you are in the bathroom
