Re: Front derailleur will not change onto largest (52) ri

The current set up did not work until 3-4 years ago when the tweiddling sorted it- its needed occasional fine tuning since then but has moved far enough across to take the chain onto the largest ring. I think theres just about enough clearance to get it onto the largest ring but it will not move acr...

Re: Front derailleur will not change onto largest (52) ri

Its the chain - having visually checked the front derailleur its not moved or been knocked I suppose it could have slipped but I can't prove it has or not

Front derailleur will not change onto largest (52) ring

I've a set of Stronglight (triple rings) largest 52 which will not change to largest ring. Any ideas? I've tried the usual adjustments and it gets very close rubbing on the ring but will not transfer -I had a similar episode a few years back and then seemed to sort it by juggling about with it. Its ...

Re: Punctue mending for 700x25/28 road tubes

Thanks for all the tips - I only started usoing PB after trying aforementioned glues. I think it probably is suitable its v. frustrating as I've tried all the tips PB used to work superbly 9 and much better than I thought it would). I think what is happening is that the patch is leaking a bubble at ...

Punctue mending for 700x25/28 road tubes

Having problems mending punctures any tips - currently clean tube check tyre but find that a slow puncture often results- i use PowerBond glue which generally works very well. I also place washer larger than patch over it and clamp it together. Any advice would be appreciated

Re: Mending slime tubes /mending punctures

The notion of hanging them up is quite interesting -
I did this more by accident than design last night and it has mended- the other thing I was thinking of was slipping a tiny piece of sponge into the tube to soak up the slime

Mending slime tubes /mending punctures

Is it worth mending Slime tubes? I ask as the slime seems to make the patch slip off. Also does the inner tube have to be deflated as patches are rarely of the right size - has any one tried mending a tube with a Skab, inflasting it then placing a patch over the Skab gluing it and holding it in plac...

Re: Use of S + S couplings/mudguards/rail travel (in uk)

I think your reply sums it all up - unless the guards are split as well its of little practical use. I'm thinking of splitting the guards and then attaching a bracket to the guards to re-assemble them -I think this would be feasible but as ecver with S + S couplings they are very fiddly ( understand...

Use of S + S couplings/mudguards/rail travel (in uk)

Has anyone used a frame fitted with S and S couplings and mudguards and had to split or remove mudguards in orfder that cycle can fit on the very limited space avaialble? the frame is fitted with 700c x 25 wheels which can be removed easily but i have found that even whith wheels removed the length ...

The lock is on Halford St in the centre just round the corner from 6 racks which have locks left on them. Its the 1st time I've known it happen.
