Hitting a child who ran out

This morning, about 08:30 in a cycle lane on a B-road, in a 30 mph zone. On the pavement (the sidewalk, not the roadway) ahead, nearside, a mother and child, a six-year-old (?) girl. The car on my right, already moving slowly, and presumably seeing the stationary queue of cars ahead, stopped to allo...

Re: IAM launches cycling membership

Whatever do they mean, "Launches cycling membership"?

Re: UK vs Continent

In the Ride of my Life programme on the BBC, the chap basically said that in the UK we went for touring but the continent went for racing. Is this vaguely true, or too sweeping a generalisation? Are us Brits known for the CTC and the Dawes Galaxy whereas in Europe they all ride in the Tour de Franc...

Re: What do you do when someone locks there bike to your propert

You have a difficult problem. It's all very well folk bullishly saying "cut the lock off, and dispose of the property", but legally, you have no right to do this. In particular, the lock, which you would have cut off, is not your property to destroy, and doing so would render you liable to...
