Last night in Holloway, N London, a lady who I think by her general demeanour was a heroin addict stepped right in front of me and went flying.
One driver gave me his card and said he'd seen her step right in front of me and that I couldn't do anything - very good of him.
She got up after about 30 seconds and crossed the road in exactly the same place, despite me showing her a crossing 15ft away!
Poor girl, don't think she was injured at all, just a bit slow to respond to any warning shouts / shock.

Bearings maintenance on Dawes Galaxy
Hello everyone
I've just bought a 2007 Dawes Galaxy in preparation for my first proper tour in September and while I don't consider myself a complete novice, I need a bit of advice on a few things!
Particularly in terms of maintenance to the bearings in the Shimano Parallax hubs / bottom bracket and Aheadset.
I'm not sure if, in time, I'll need to maintain these or if they are sealed cartridge units which are better left alone until something goes wrong.
While I was impressed with the service I got from the bike shop, the generic manual they gave me from Dawes was not the greatest and does not give much information.
Thanks a lot - all advice gratefully received on this and other pre-touring technical matters!
