Re: IGH lubrication; a smoking gun.
I'm interested by this: Using oil in coaster brakes isn't normally such a good idea because the brake can too easily run dry. I know that there have been single-speed and multi-speed coaster brake hubs with oil lubrication in the past. Is there some particular feature of these hubs that makes them m...

Re: 26" hub brake compatible fork
Hello everyone I bought and fitted the fork from Holland bike shop that I linked to earlier. However, I have a concern. The stem is rather a loose fit in the steerer tube. When the quill is tightened, there is still some play between the fork and the stem. (Just to be clear, I am not talking about a...

Re: 26" hub brake compatible fork
Hello Cotterpins
Thanks for that. Unfortunately I don't think the steerer tube will be long enough - needs to be about 25cm for my bike.
But thanks anyway.

Re: 26" hub brake compatible fork
Gerry: Yes it's one inch threaded. I've had a look around and a think, and a plan is coming together. I'm going to use this fork: http://en.hollandbikeshop.com/bicycle-parts-city-bike/bicycle-fork-headset/bicycle-fork/bicycle-fork-26-inch/cortina-fork-u4-mini-26-inch-girls-matt-black/ Somehow I over...

Re: 26" hub brake compatible fork
Hello everyone Thanks for the helpful replies. Gerry: Yes, I think using a disc fork could be a good idea. Even if I don't use the mounting holes for a disc caliper, I could use a strap to hold the hub reaction arm on. The fork would be designed for taking braking forces in this way. Brucey: The Pas...

26" hub brake compatible fork
Hello all I have a 26" (559 mm) wheel bike that I use for riding around town. At the weekend I fell off while riding on a rough track through a field, and the fork now is bent, so that the steering pulls to the right. We tried clamping the fork in a vice, and also hitting it with big heavy thin...

Lepper Tour and other mattress-type saddles
Hello all I was wondering if anyone has experience with the Lepper Tour saddle, or other mattress-type saddles in general? I'm looking for a new saddle for my town bike, which has an upright riding position and is mainly used for shortish trips. I seem to have quite wide sit bones, so it needs to be...
