Apa Audax Ti

Hello All,

I've been looking at this bike from Spa. Looking at their standard spec, is there anything you would change and why?

Re: Spa Titanium Audax v Sabbath September

Beetroot, In one post you say : I've no intention of touring, day rides, commuting, and carrying the odd loads short distances. And the next post you say: I don't intend to go touring, though may carry the odd load short distances, but typically will be using for day rides and commuting. You want s...

Re: Spa Titanium Audax v Sabbath September

I looked at the titanium frames about three years ago, I bought a Van Nicholas so I am not biased between the two that you mention. In my opinion you are paying the extra money for a prettier frame. The functionality seems to be the same but the Spa is a little bit agricultural in finish and lacks ...

Re: Spa Titanium Audax v Sabbath September

I would have to immediately reject the Sabbath because the seat angle is too steep for touring use. In the small/med sizes it is about 2 degrees more than the Spa, and the top tube is about the same length in the smaller sizes, thus throwing the position all forwards; OK if you like riding on the r...

Spa Titanium Audax v Sabbath September

Hello, can anyone with more knowledge of these things than I, explain in simple terms the major differences in the frames of these two bikes (Spa Ti audax and Sabbath September), and why the Sabbath is significantly more expensive. Is it vastly superior in performance or build quality? Is it much li...

I object to being stopped from riding sensibly in parks and open spaces just because other riders act foolishly.

mtb cassette on road bike 10 speed

Is it possible to fit a MTB cassette, e.g. Deore xt 11-34 to a 10 speed 105 compact?

I guess it will involve replacing derailleur and chain, but will it work?

Re: CYCLISTS SHOULD BE BANNED FROM...CYCLING!!!

Did anyone else read Graeme Jefferson's comments in the Letters page of last Tuesday's Portsmouth News (May 1 2012, pages 6 & 7, in a letter entitled 'Cyclists peril') following the injury to a cyclist by a bus on the new BRT route in Gosport? He wrote... 'While I have every sympathy for the in...

Re: Riding non-stop

I've just got back from a 43mile ride and I didn't stop once. Average moving speed 13.5mph, active time of 3hrs 10mins. Question: By riding non-stop, do I consume more of my flab than if I'd stopped a few times to admire the view? (granted that the active time and average moving speed would be the ...

Re: 20% on road bike/physics

On my lightwight road bike compact lowest gear is 33". I can usully get up 25% hills at a struggle. However if the road is wet or slippy it can make a difference. There are roads I won't attempt if conditions are wet, and I have one local road 20%+ which I avoid because it is heavily overhung b...
