Re: Hybrid - GT Transeo Comp Vs Claud Butler Exp 2.0

Agree that the Giant city escape looks a better bike, who knows , you might enjoy it so much that you want to use it at weekends for social riding as well, that's when the suspension fork will become a pain.

Re: Losing some weight?

I think really, that unless you are a performance cyclist, its all a bit of a red herring, especially when you have a trusted ol' friend that has been perfectly ok up to now. a bit like leaving the wife , just because she's put a few pounds on. None of use are getting any younger, and we tend to thi...

Re: Marathon vs Marathon Greenguard

Here, https://www.cyclingabout.com/touring-tyres-rolling-resistance-testing/ the Marathon Supreme has one of the lowest rolling resistance figures. Interesting read. yes it's true, but I had more than a few visits with the 'Supremes' and the culprits were little thorns, but the GG seem to shrug the...

Re: EXTENDING THESE PAGES

other forums have more than 2 pages tho. Its frustrating to remember something in the section, that now could be of use, and one is sure it was only a few weeks ago, but now can't be traced . Parts section, and complete bike section, are both only 2 pages long.

EXTENDING THESE PAGES

Can the forum chiefs see fit to extend the FOR SALE pages from 2 pages to ..say 6, or even 10. Not everything sells quickly, and if there is a flurry of new postings, things drop off too quickly, and are never to be seen again, and its a hassle relisting stuff all the time. How about it chaps?

Re: Galaxy Steel Frame repair advice please

I don't think the question of 'is it worth repairing' ever came into it. The chap wants to repair his favourite bike, and preserve, and add too, the memories attached . I commend him for it.

Re: Fork replacement needed for Alan CX frame - recommendations please

I have a pair of forks on my 'dead' Bob Jackson, 2014 world tour. Amber flam in colour, 1" threaded, canti bosses,32mm tyres, rack / guard bosses, Off a 24" frame, dead because of a side /rear impact that twisted the frame. If your interested that is :)

Re: Schwalbe Winter Tyres

was going to get a set, then, read some reviews, and was put off. A number of folks had commented that the spikes push thro into the tyre, causing punctures, then when the offending stud is removed, the tube then pops up thro the wee hole.

Re: Brooks B17 replacement for Wet Weather Riding?

Now then this leads me on to an idea. I have successfully re-covered 2 saddle in the past, the last being a plastic charge spoon, that I covered with a leather cusion, with very good results. Now then Why not take a C17, that is scruffy, remove the canvas cover,I would imagine it would just pull off...
