Kentish Man wrote:Caving or pot holing also leaves me with a big question mark. Yes, there are some beautiful formations, but these seem to be few and far between for the discomfort of a cold, wet, muddy crawl in the pitch black. What about these sections where one has to go under water and then through a tiny crevice to get to the next section? I mean, who'd be daft enough to try that the first time?? And yet it gives some folk pleasure!

It's particularly dificult to do on a bike!

Looks like we've gone to size here as well! Next you'll be telling us that it comes in three sizes, Teal, Mallard and Swan!

I knew a wood near Monmouth that had real, wild daffs, not the cultivars. Most of them got taken by scurrilous plant thieves. A few years ago, we had some bee orchids come up on Maiden Castle. I went to photograph them a few days later - they'd all been dug up. Such actions disgust me. :x

Rather a scientific answer to a philosophical question, but best I can do :-)

But what about the photons emitted from a match after it is rubbed on sandpaper? Are thy only light if they go in someones eyes? sorry, I mean enter the ocular system of a sentient being?

I give up? Will they?

We ran a discussion on this last year. I have one on my road bike as well as a conventional over the brake lever one; sadly there were quite a few dissenters. I also found their follow up service excellent.

Paid 10 Euro for a busch and Muller mirror - the same mirror in local shop £14.
I have also found that there is a wider range and choice - many things that are readily available in Holland, Germany and Belgium being unavailable in England.
I recently wanted a Humpert handlebar. It took great determination, many phone calls to the UK importer and an email to Herr Humpert in Germany -before I was eventually able to buy it.
Very annoying.
Better food, better transport system, better health care - and most things are cheaper.

Mrs Tortoise; are you Tallis the Tortoise's mum :?:

I'm probably qualified to be, but alas no, Andy comes from another family of Tortoises, something he only disclosed since the new boards came on line. I was as surprised as you appear to be, but I think that ties things up nicely! :P

Si, it's just like the socks, Aldi have their name above the door, and Lidl amazingly do the same, only with Lidl. (Aren't they owned by two brothers - the stores not the socks!) Clever folk these Germans.

My friend went to buy some camouflage trousers, but couldn't find them!

I picked up:

Tesco value puncture repair kit 97p
Reflective trouser clips £2.47
Ping bell 97p

They also had a nice looking little pump with a pressure gauge for about a fiver, cycling gloves for £7.95. cycling mitts £4.95, inner tubes £1.47..

Would do in an emergency while you're picking your veg :)

I've never had an emergency while picking my veg, unless you call a run in with a bag of sprouts one; I shall however, keep it in mind.
