New dilemma with pannier fittings on road bike

Ok... Here's the deal. I bought a bike thinking it had rear dropout eyelets, and it doesn't. I have purchased p-clips for the top end... But as for the dropout end - What would you suggest? I've been looking at the Tubus Adapter Set For QR-Axle Mounting Kit. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/tubus-adapter-set...

Re: End2End with a seatpost rack

Done a bit of research about P-Clips and ordered from Evans.

Fingers crossed they will be strong enough... Great idea, thanks very much :)

End2End with a seatpost rack

Hello All, Would it be silly to think that I could do an end2end on a road bike with a seatpost rack, considering the ride will be unsupported? The load will need to include everything I need for the 2 weeks, and also half the weight of the tent/sleeping bags etc... As my friend will be carrying the...

Lubing a new bike chain

Hi all,

I need to replace my bike chain and I'm just wondering if I will need to 'prepare' the new chain. If so, how?

Regards

Re: Fit new V-Brakes? or buy cheap replacement Caliper?

Several makes use a 6mm Allen bolt, 12-14mm long, with a captivated lipped washer. A possible solution?? Any 6mm bolt will do, as long as the length doesn’t interfere with the calliper body. It's a Shimano Mechanical Caliper and thats exactly what the prob is... it interferes with the caliper body....

Fit new V-Brakes? or buy cheap replacement Caliper?

Hi All... To cut a long story short, I've lost the bolt that clamps the brake cable on the rear brake caliper. I've been everywhere looking for a replacement and have had no luck. So if anybody knows where i can get one from, that would be the answer to all my problems lol/. But as it stands, I have...

Cape Wrath - Dover August 2011. What Bike?

Hi All... Cycling Cape Wrath to Dover this year and would like some advice on bike choice. In August 2009, I cycled JOGLE, and used my hard tail mountain bike w/ slicks (with a tonne of luggage, no support van and very little experience). This might sound a lot to handle, but it wasn't too bad as I ...
