Re: Environmental protestors interrupt Chancellor's speech

Hi all, I think an investigation into the working conditions of that person's rabbits must be instigated immediately! The views of the rabbits involved must be sought to ensure that they are not being exploited or under paid!! Their mental well-being may be seriously at risk? IGICB MM

Re: NO quote for service is that a joke

Hi there, A personal face to face with a machine in view is always the way to go. Unless a concern has a policy of automatically replacing all "Consumable" elements , chain, cassette, cables, brake components et al they can't quote blind! Chain lubrication alone causes me concern, as I don...

Re: Environmental protestors interrupt Chancellor's speech

hi there, Vorpal wrote "Violence is an acceptable response for trespass?".
I counter "I death an acceptable response for cycling?"!
Having witnessed first hand the trauma that violent assault can occasion I think reaction can be disproportionate, "Fight or Flight"! MM

Re: Environmental protestors interrupt Chancellor's speech

Hello again :( , Picture this, uninvited persons wheedle their way into the offices of "Greenpeas", they have serious mischief in mind, maybe cause criminal damage to expensive computer systems. Do the "Greenpeas" persons politely approach the intruders, enquiring as to their int...

Hello oldjohnw, I did not modify my topic heading! Maybe the Mods did? I don't do "Politically Correct", I'm an un-reconstituted oldie, say what I mean, mean what I say. MM

Re: Environmental protestors interrupt Chancellor's speech

Hello Vorpal, Can't see why there is a need to get personally abusive about my "Green-ness" or lack of it by some posters? That is abuse! I'm far more environmentally aware and compliant than many so-called "Greens"! I Don't/Won't Fly, see no need for 3rd runway at Heathrow, unle...

Environmental protestors interrupt Chancellor's speech

Morning all, So Greenpeace activists decided to create a protest scene at the Mansion House speech from the Chancellor? When she was cut off at the pass by a man who was a Government Minister, who laid hands on her and frog marched her out, she plays the "Delicate Female" card! In these te...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Hi Guys, Maybe Junker, Tusk & Barnier should settle down alongside Jimmy Hoffa, he liked hard-ball. I'm sure Trump knows where Jimmy is right now! But maybe the E.U. will be busy having to mediate between Germany & Austria over their road charging problems? That issue is going to be mirrored...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Hi there, So the answer to all of Switzerland's problems will be provided by them Kow Towing to the wishes of the E.U., say sod it to their centuries of independence and neutrality? I bet the Swiss would get cheesed off with a future like that! MM

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Hi MJR, Well that link doesn't offer much in the way of confidence building? Here we are mid June, yet the Swiss agreement expires end of July??? Brinkmanship at it's worst! the facts as reported in the Daily Torygraph aren't a distortion or fake news (very Trump style), so the dark forces of E.U. n...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Hi all, Nice to see that the E.U. i back to threatening Switzerland again? The Swiss access to the european market is controlled by a system of "Equivalence", which is due to expire at the end of July. The renewal is now dependant on the Swiss agreeing to roll over and give the E.U. carte ...

Hi there, How many folk have actually ridden a cycle with a sidecar? I've ridden solo & tandem. At one York Rally a nice couple let SWMBO & I take their outfit, tandem with Watsonian Sidecar for a nice long ride, complete with nipper in the chair! "You'll knock him to sleep? Job done wh...

Re: End of Pensioner "Perks"

Hi again, Bear in mind that when the State Pension was introduced the actuarial expectancy was that the recipient would live for about 2 and a half years, leave the stafts at 65, turn one's toes up before reaching 70  . TTFN MM

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Hello all, Life in the old Brexit thread yet? I seem to recall examples of other countries that took measures to try and stop the fat cats get fatter when in power. One country weighed the leader on a regular basis to stop them living high on the hog! How many M.P.'s would survive that? But better s...

Hello there, Is someone saying that I'm demanding tax cuts? Not me! Maybe M.P.s should stop trying to claim everything going on expences money would be available for better use? But the BBC has a nerve claiming hardship, yet has lashed out mega dosh for things such as that "Eastenders" set...
