Had a similar story tho mine was a steel frame. The BB shell threads were f***d, so I sent it to Argos in Bristol, who reamed out a new thread. Can't remember the cost but it was worth it. I would never touch threadless BB's personally on a used daily bike.

My view is tread on a tyre for road use is purely cosmetics, not enough speed to warrant a tread. Bold/slicks tyres just as good.

I rode the EV6 through Romania. Loved my time there, I ran along the south following the Danube. Not much traffic, lots of friendly faces and cheers through the villages. Very cheap. Horse drawn carriages everywhere, Beware of; Dogs in the villages, certain types asking for money, mostly young child...

I have similar problem tho the rear wheel is a Mavic Ksyrium equipe. My guess is the freehub is shot ? any help gratefully received.

I did it on my ATB back in March, fully laden with panniers, 2nd time iv'e done it.26" wheels. I'd not recommend it. I don't own a MTB.

Noise gone! after chainring replaced. £16.80 from Evans. Think I'll order a big chainring in advance of a repeat performance.

Personally I'd opt for Sapim every time,tho i would'nt be surprised if Sapim supply spokesave. Very pleased with my Andra/sputnik rims.

i have a noise on my Felt Z25. Only happens out the saddle on climbs, in any gear. New BB fitted, chain and cassete. I'm puzzled. A creaking sound. Interesting reading, as i have a similar problem. I run a GXP Sram BB, brand new, on Look pedals. What i am puzzled by it was fine before i did a full service on the bike.Ouch!

St Nazaire - Mulhouse was 643 miles. Wien - 1335 miles. And to Budapest - 1550 miles. Hope that helps.

Hi, Yes I did this route from Atlantic to Black sea earlier this summer, I also rode to Varna from Constanta. I mostly camped with a few rooms thrown in. I do Recommend varnacampsite .com. Run by A British couple in Varna. Pm me for more details. Good luck.
