I have just bought a Michelin fold out map reverseable £5.99, no 722, has France and edges of neighbouring countrys, should be all you need just put it in a map holder.

Hey, Well I've booked the ferry, 29th 06 Portsmouth - St Malo, Return 09th 07 Bilbao- Portsmouth,
So is anybody on either of them boats? I'm used to being alone for a few days but it's always nice to hook up and chinwag with random strangers :lol:

Timmelsjoch is a superb pass Italy/Austria, veiws and road. Also like the Passo di pordoi (Dolomites) and Great st bernard Italy/Switzerland.

I guess the East ramp is the famous side, I have done it on motorcycle and it does not rate highly on my list of the passes Ive ridden (most) it's just a box ticket to say "done it" Veiw from the top is allreet.

Hello, Information required as to the ease of finding hotels traveling via French back roads please. I usually do touring on the motorbike so finding hotels is pretty simple as I can cover ground a hell of a lot quicker, I keep an eye out from 6pm ish and usually stumble upon a decent place soon aft...

I have checked ferry prices and times and it does not give an option for bicycle on the Bilao - Portmouth route only Santander. Has anybody turned up at Bilbao on a cycle and got on? Can recomend the Soca valley as others never cycled there but kayaked the Soca and stayed at camp lazar in Kobarid witch is a top campsite.
