Hi All,
A bit more info to add to the tale. I bought two Orbit Gold Medals made from 531ST (a his and hers set) directly from the Pensett factory in '94, and they're still going strong. Okay I 've had to replace a few compoments as they've worn out and both have a few battle scars, but they've survived, British Airways, Calmac and ScotRail and I'm in no hurry to 'upgrade' to something newer.
If anyone come across one of these frames or a complete bike, buy it. They may not have the street cred of a 'modern' tourer, but as long as the frame is in good condition you'll end up with a good tourer or day to day bike.
