Re: Cromoplastic mudguards
Using a bolt cutter is easier and a lot less work than using a hack saw.

Re: Reccomend me cheap loose fit shirt pref with back pocket
Decathlon do short sleeve jerseys for 7.99, for loose fit just get the next size up.

Re: Tyre Choice Advice
A 700x35c tyre would give a more comfortable ride than your current 700x32c. I can recommend Vittoria Randonneur (double shielding) 700x35c as a comfortable and puncture resistant tyre that rolls well. Having no experience of the better known Schwalbe Marathon or Continental equivalents I can't provide a comparative evaluation.

Re: restore or the skip?
Its a part of our British engineering heritage and as such shouldn't suffer the indignity of being scrapped or exiled to the third world. Advertise it on here either for sale or free to an enthusiastic restorer.

Re: Dawes Galaxy Help
Sizing charts merely indicate the appropriate frame size for Mr. Average. Since few of us are that standardised and have our own favoured riding positions there is no substitute for actually trying out a couple of frame sizes.

Re: Introductions - tell us about yourself
Hi,
Real name - Andrew
Age - 51
Location - SW London
Work - Unemployed, used to work as a finance director.
Bikes - Specialized XC FSR mtb, Specialized Sirrus, Globe Carmel, Dawes Kalahari. The dawes is the worst quality but the most comfortable.
Used to ride a lot as a teenager then a long break. Started again 4 years ago, mainly short leisure rides, shopping etc. Definitely a fair weather rider.
Am now looking to ride more frequently and to try some longer (for me) rides.
