Tied 'in tandem' between the trees to make a hammock. Two longways and a few across. I only need another 2,674 and I'm finished.

NO! - don't send your old ones to me!

Re: Edinburgh to Poole - advice please.

Hello, look at Mick F's End to End route and reverse it - and when you get to Taunton bear left across country to Poole. Or - and I don't have enough space here - if you want a route from Berwick to Bournemouth PM me and I'll type it out - I used to ride this route regularly when I was younger. It's...

Re: Could'nt find Land's End.....

Si, thank you for your response to my post - obviously you take in all the forums! In all seriousness, and accepting that yes, we all have to start somewhere - if the bloke really does not have the nous to look at a map to see where he's going to and from, has not thought of Googling the start and f...

Could'nt find Land's End.....

Hello all, it was suggested to me today that there was 'another really good cycling forum, and I ought to have a look'. So I had a look, spotted 'Land's End to JOG', and the first post said: "Does anyone know the nearest railway station to Land's End? - I want to do a LeJog next year" What...

Re: OKEHAMPTON TO TAUNTON VIA EXETER?

Okehampton to Taunton via Crediton and Tiverton is bumpier, via Exeter less so. Distance fairly similar. Might depend where you are staying? I always compromise by going Oke, Cred, Cullompton, Wellington, Taunton. Only one hill that way, just before Cullompton! Mick will be back from Malta soon and ...

Re: a decent bike maintenance book?

Hello, there is a selection of maintenance books available at www.bicyclebooks.co.uk - have a look at their site, and give them a ring - they do try to help if they can! (They are cyclists themselves!)

Re: Obsession withi Lejog. There are MUCH better tours to do.

Hello, 3rd - no, it's not a Labour Party statistic, but a real one - I read it on this Forum somewhere so it must be true. And who's a naughty boy for giving the game away about the picture of that little incline that I posted - it looks a bit like Gunny Hill to me, except that there are no traffic ...

Re: Obsession withi Lejog. There are MUCH better tours to do.

Whatever we all think, between 3,000 and 4,000 people will do the ride next year - and why not? For many of them it will be their first long-distance bike ride, and who knows? - they might get 'bitten' and start touring regularly - good on them. I'll leave you with one reason why it's better to do L...

Re: Train fares(or not fair)

It's all crazy! Cornwall to Paddington for the Cycle Show last week - Advance fares £38 First Class going up, £56 Standard coming back - logic,I can't see it! A return - wait for it - First Class £422.00, Standard £265.00. Put these words in order: Dogs, Going, Country, The, To, Is, This. I'm going ...

Re: canal towpaths

Hello. That's an easy question - the Nantes-Brest canal towpath in Brittany. About 350km, so well within your scope. Good book about the towpath from http://www.bicyclebooks.co.uk, see their 'Country Touring' section. Links to accommodation in the area as well. Lots of b & b around, small hotels...
