Re: Grumbly knee

VM is the one that hangs over the medial side of the patella when the knee is straight. Why would 'bent riding be different, you dont lock your knees out, do you? Remember, as rulealexander says, there are other knee problems. I am not certain the OPs symptoms are a good fit to patella tracking pro...

Re: Grumbly knee

I've just googled Vastus Medialis images to see where it lies in the leg. Going by what Colin says about it I've just seen the difference between DF cycling and recumbent cycling, for me anyway. If I'm right the VM in my legs (just above the knee on the inside) are quite well developed so hopefully ...

Re: An armchair question

I had a similar problem with a settee from DFS, it wouldn't go in the front door because of the porch. We took it on a hundred yard detour to come in the back way through the shed (long narrow garden door both ends) even then I had to take the door off on the house end.

Re: the new bike how it is going

I changed to bar end shifters on my 2005 "S" for that^^^ very reason. Using the twist grip shifters also caused me the same numb hand problem that I had while riding upwrongs.

Re: Fairground Rides

I spent absolutely ages on the dodgems. Also, Mrs Mick F drove one - the first time in her life! Big grins everywhere. When I was in my teens I nearly got thrown off the dodgems for reversing, I was going the same direction as everyone else but backwards. The attendant jumped on the side and said d...

Re: Recumbent chain lube

Yes finish line is what I've been using for nearly 5 years with no problems. When I stripped my Trike for respray I cleaned everything, when I did the chain tubes they wern't very dirty at all, even though I ride in all weathers all year round.

Re: Should i get a trailer

Another trailer that you might want to try is a Radical cyclone. I have one and it's brill.

I didn't get mine from there I've had mine for 6 years I think I paid £250 but can't remember who I got it from.

Re: So all cyclists who get killed by HGVs are undertakers?

This sort of thing will continue forever and a day until the numpties that make up the rules bring in the strict liability rule. Even then it more than likely won't make a bit of difference to the drivers that believe the road belongs to them.

Re: Interesting day!!

I had a similar problem the other day. I had to ride my brothers MTB into town (2 miles at the most) to get new pedals for his trike while my trike was stripped for respray. To say that it was uncomfortable would be the understatement of the year. My sit bones where sore for days afterwards. Trouble...

Blue???

Looks really purple to me

The correct colour according to the car body shop place that I bought it is "Yamaha Violet". It looks even better in the flesh.

Some pictures of the paint job on my Trike. new colour1ctc.jpg new colour2ctc.jpg new colour3ctc.jpg new colour4ctc.jpg It also has a complete new box of cogs front and back. Just need a new bar end shifter for the rear gears as I've lost some clicks, it goes from 3 to 6 on the clicks missing 4 &...

Re: I give up!

We have that sort of thing in Plymouth. The A379 going out through Plymstock used to be 2 lanes. They decided to make it cycle lane for about 2 miles by painting hatching on the right hand side of the inside lane. Where there are houses there are loads of cars parked. Luckily there is still enough r...

Re: C2C by recumbent

Byegad; Excellent information. I would agree about bent and upright Trikes and tandems I think, although when cycling on the High Peak trail and the York solar trail, I've seen a couple of tandems and trikes but no recumbents, not a scientific study, just an observation. Hi I'm one of the guys that...
