Why would there be?

Re: Turbo trainers - how much use do you get?

I bought an emotion set of rollers a few years ago (for a lot less than they cost now and without
the forkstand/power meter stuff)
. It has 3 resistance settings. Dead easy to ride on. Should use
it more though.

Re: How much YOU have spent This year on Bike related stuff?

I was thinking about it today, but decided not to worry about it. It's a lot less than the watch I bought
and less than the furniture I purchased.

Re: Has anyone bought wide shoes recently?

I have an old pair of wide touring shoes I use with my frog cleats and they've reached the end of the road. Literally. So much so that I can't put new cleats in them for fear of just mucking up a perfectly good pair of expensive cleats. Of course, as cycling shoe styles seem to change every year i ...

Re: Has anyone bought wide shoes recently?

You could try a Sidi "Mega" shoe. Their add's say about 4mm wider than their normal fitting across the ball of the foot. I bought Sidi Mega, but still had to use one of these to make the shoes comfortable. My feet are very wide. Off the bike I wear shoes by Keen . They cater for those wit...

Re: Wheels - number of spokes

I’ve broken a spoke a couple of times on 32h rear wheels riding unladen. on the one hand the breakage wasn’t an emergency show stopper, but on the other, you’re almost certainly going to have to remove your cassette, so even if you carry the spare spokes and cassette tool, it’s a still a spanner bi...

Re: Hub Dynamo for winter commute.

I don't really care if there are other cars or cyclists heading my way You may care if an oncoming car or cyclist is blinded by the beam and ends up driving or riding into you because they cannot see where they are going. People aren't that stupid that they'd drive or ride when they can't see where...

Me too. I asked them for specific size chainrings (iirc an extra £15 per chainset).

Re: partial knee replacement

I had one in July this year. I'm back in work and riding again. Not doing circuit training yet, as I don't think the knee is up to any running, jumping, bounding, etc etc. Not yet walking the one mile to work, but riding instead. Using gym equipment to strengthen quad and hamstring muscles. https://...

In such circumstances I've always found the ride splits up, as some riders think they're
going too slow and want to ride faster.

Re: Shoe sizing

Anyone listen to R4 on Wednesday? Chap on there has run LEJOG barefoot. I didn't listen to all he said as I was involved in other stuff, but he went on about feet and shoes and how shoes are the wrong shape for feet. Draw round a foot, then draw round a shoe ........... he was saying. Feet are wide...
