Re: Shoe sizing

Anyone listen to R4 on Wednesday? Chap on there has run LEJOG barefoot. I didn't listen to all he said as I was involved in other stuff, but he went on about feet and shoes and how shoes are the wrong shape for feet. Draw round a foot, then draw round a shoe ........... he was saying. Feet are wide...

Re: Shoe sizing

Shimano shoes seem to be reasonably broad. I find Shimnao shoes too narrow. Even their wide-fit are too tight for my feet. Out of interest what do you wear? I need wide fitting. Recently purchased some Bonts but really would like more width still. I have a pair of Sidi Dominator 7 Mega and Louis Ga...

Re: Shoe sizing

I am looking into buying a pair of Shimano RP 701 shoes and am not sure what size to get as I am a size 8 UK but when I look at the size charts some say I need a 43 and some say I need a 41.5 and some say 42 so confusing.I know I could just go to a shop and try them but there are none near me that ...

Re: Shoe sizing

Can't help with sizing, as it's universally known the manufacturers have different ideas on
what a particular size should be.

Re: Can anyone recommend to me a breathable, brightly coloured & reflective waterproof jacket?

I purchased this one about 10 minutes ago. In the orange linked to? Good colour! I hope it works for you (in terms of waterproofing, breathability, durability and, yes, aesthetically). Wore it this morning (as it was spitting throughout the ride) . I went one size up and bought the large. It fitted...

Re: Reports of the death of triple/nine speed greatly exaggerated?

I have actually purchased 10 of the 12-27 cassettes (as spares) over the past couple of years to enable me to continue putting together my desired combination of 13-30. I acquired separate 13 (top) and 30 tooth sprokets (for each of my three bikes) , removed the 12t and 13t and added the 30t. So the...

Re: Reports of the death of triple/nine speed greatly exaggerated?

I'm still running a 9 speed triple and have no intention of changing it or doubt that it won't outlast me. Me too, but I only know of one outlet that sells the 12-27 cassette that I favour. You can get the Ultegra version from Rosebikes and Bike-discount.de and probably others. Have you got a sourc...

Re: Dogs off lead on shared use path

And dogs don't take over the roads on big sorties throwing gel wrappers and other rubbish into the side if the road without a care. At least most dog owners pick up the poop. If only every supportive rider took their rubbish home with them. Not all dog owners pick up their pet's $h1t. Car drivers a...

Re: Hip replacement and cycling

Hi everyone I was a very keen cyclist covering 100+ miles per week up until 8 weeks ago when I was knocked off by a car.Straight to hospital and a total hip replacement the following day. The trauma has been pretty bad and I am only just shuffling around with two crutches with still a bit of pain f...
