Re: Audax Bike (Spa?) with Tourer Gearing & Double vs. Triple

I have a Spa Audax and bought the following custom chainset from them:
46/34/24. (Paid an extra tenner for it).

I then added a rear (9s custom) cassette of choice:
13/14/15/17/19/21/24/27/30.

Re: Shoes too tight: The fix.

I'd recommend you use one of these . My feet are wide, so bought a pair of Sidi Mega shoes. I still had to use the shoe stretcher on them. ...and another thing. This stretcher is not foot shaped either.... True, but the way the've stretched my shoes results in there being more room around the toe-b...

Don't think that would work on synthetics, without heat.

I would disagree with you. However, if you still hold to your view, try one of these.

Re: Helmets?

Two non-helmet wearing riders in our club have recently been in collisions with cars. The first suffered cuts and light bruising to arms and legs and has vowed to wear a helmet from now on. The other rider was in very serious incident with a car in France (about 10 days ago) and has only just been r...

Re: Helmets?

...............................Seems like you're a bit accident-prone. Ride slower; it may prevent some of the incidents you've been involved in. I referred to just two accidents in which I've been involved. Your comment to one of them may be relevant and appropriate; I wasn't hit by anything - a f...

Re: Helmets?

A non-helmet wearing member of our club (early 60s) was knocked off his bike by a taxi last week.
He has now announced that in future he will be wearing a helmet. He didn't allude to whether his
head was injured in the collision, but he mentioned damage to his crank.

Re: Garmin 1:50k Full Country SD Card

I have one - bought as a bundle withan Edge Touring - it's the full OSurvey 1-50,000 of the whole of the UK - 2014 version. I've now moved on to a Garmin 1000 which runs other maps and not the OSurvey .... so I have the OS MicroSD for sale .... PM if interested, I guess it's worth £25 to give it a ...

Re: Helmets?

I don't like helmets - I never have. They're hot, sweaty and cumbersome. 14 years ago I had a prang, flew over the bars and headed into the tarmac at about 30mph. Blood was pouring from my ear and I was in the middle of a main road. I was in intensive care for about three days, in hospital for a we...

Re: How to get a customised 10-sp Shimano cassette

I was looking at a spare 12/27 10 speed cassette. The bottom 3 sprockets are riveted on an aluminium carrier...... http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A1Zl8eqiPRM/Tk8UnWyr49I/AAAAAAAALSI/IAcKRsJvVzg/s1600/CIMG0957.JPG Those rivets can easily be removed (with a hammer and a pointy metal thingy) .

Re: Dynamos - Hub or Bottle?

B&M do an all weather wire roller for their bottle dynamos: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/dynamos/busch-muller-dymotec-all-weather-roller-cap-wire-brush-type/ If you use this roller make sure your tyre has the dynamo track on it, otherwise it'll chew into your tyre (DAMHIKT). After it happened I ...
