Having seen a horse kick in the side panels of a stationery Volvo that it just took a disliking to, I give horses as much space as possible.

I'm not sure about this censuring now.

As I had understood it postings would be censured if they were an attack against someone or deliberately caused offence - and I fully support this.

But having read this thread it now seems that we may be censured for saying something controversial about the CTC and its operation.

Is this correct?

I think they should as well - Coventarian.
But I dont think this is what will happen.
As I understand it there are only plans to charge for using main roads.

I miss the imperial measurements.
Take thread sizes.
No more BA, BSP, Whitworth, etc., and books with charts of calculations.

Metric is much too easy. :?

Much of the discussion about motorists using minor roads has been discussed in the thread 'allocate minor roads to cyclists' - a system which is already in place in Belgium and Holland.

Many minor roads do run in the same direction as major routes.
In Lincolnshire we alrady see a rise in use of these minor roads to avoid congestion, because the minor roads often are derestricted and offer a potentially faster alternative, and because sat nav systems are directing the most unsuitable vehicles onto country lanes.

If the corresponding major route has road charging then there will definitely be an increase in use on minor roads.

There is no political will to stop this.

SJS fitted the bracket to my bike after several failed attempts to fit it on the crown bolt.

Having seen what they did I could have easily fitted it myself and saved £30 (plus a very long drive)

Stof - If you are interested I'll take some photos of it in detail for you.

Thanks for the link Julk.

£100 !!! seems an outragrous price

My three piece ergo bars cost around £25 and that included the foam grips already fitted - and postage from Holland.

I'll try the Humpert web site again - they have a large range and being German are more likely to have some to acomodate the Rholoff.

I had my B& M light fitted on a stainless steel arm at the front of mudguards because of the small frame size there was not room at the crown bolt.
It puts the lamp in front of the bar bag and is surprisingly stable.
If you have mudguards it might be a solution.

Parish - do you have any info about the three piece drop bars.
I did not see these when I whent to SJS.
I did not like the straightish bars that mine came with and ended up putting a three piece German 'ergo' bar on mine which I got from Holland.
They are comfy so far but havent done a really long journey with them yet.
