Re: Best Cycle Lock for Travelling
My thinking behind the longer lock was that I may be on a campsite where I have to lock my bike around a tree or something like that! The kryptonite lock looks good, but where to find these as I'm going very soon. I have a Kryptonite New Yorker D lock and could take this as well, but think it may be overkill.

Re: Best Cycle Lock for Travelling
TBH, I wondered if I would need to take a really secure lock as will only be leaving bike when on campsite. The rest of the time just when I nip into cafes. I was looking at this one:

I do have a kryptonite new yorker D lock but thought it may be overkill for such a trip and very heavy.

Best Cycle Lock for Travelling
Apologies if this has been answered before but heading off next week on my trip as outlined below in another post. I have all my gear together except for a lock - what would people recommend given that I will be camping. Cheers
Hi, I've decided to head to the Alps this summer on my road bike, travelling light and camping on the way. Probably going to catch the train to London and then cycle to Dover and take the ferry to Calais. After that I intend to head to the Alps and return via the Pyrenees tackling some of the famous climbs on the way. I have between 4 and 6 weeks depending upon how my legs hold out. Can anyone suggest any good routes, books or online sites on must do routes. I'm particluarly interested in a nice scenic route from Calais to the Alps
