Re: Wall mounted cycle hangers

I picked one of these up in Planet X the other week (haven't got around to fitting it yet!), seem well made and good value.

SKS chromoplastics are pretty good, fit and forget.

Re: Brian Rourke, Steve Goff, Mercian, Merlin, Diamant, Look

The frame number on the Goff will be the date that Steve completed the frame.

Re: Self-loosening threaded headset mystery...advice appreci

Would be interested to see what the bottom race of that headset looks like? It almost looks like the race at the top is a bottom race, although surely it wouldn't fit together like that would it? On every headset that I have the top race that fits into the frame is very shallow and the threaded adju...

Re: Change chainset to a compact

The most cost effective option would be swapping out the 42 inner ring for a 38 (which is the smallest that will fit on a 130 BCD chain set) and change the rear cassette to something with a 28 large sprocket. You should get away with the existing mechs.

Re: Bob Jackson restoration

That's a good point Julian, it's one of those places that if you don't know where it is you will never find it! First time I went I had to call Steve to talk me in!

Re: Bob Jackson restoration

I wouldn't worry about the spanner, Steve will remove the headset & bottom bracket for you ( doubt he will even charge you) tell him that Mark from Brighouse sent you ;-)

Re: Bob Jackson restoration

The Bob Jackson decals shouldn't present too much of a problem. If you get the frame refinished by Steve he will take it to C&G finishes for painting, they will be able to supply & fit (or replicate) most original decals. Most of the north wests best frame builders use C&G, Harry Quinn &...

Re: Bob Jackson restoration

I wouldn't hesitate in sending you in Steve Goffs direction for a frame repair. I can vouch for the quality of his work having as he has built a custom frame for me and repaired and renovated another. Steve's workshop is a frame building alladins cave and I'm sure that he will have something that re...

That's good to hear John, how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

I would far rather spend money in EB than on t'internet.

Re: Question re 725 tubing

As with any frame the forks, seat and chain stays are the most expensive tubing. Most frames built from 725 have 525 (725 without the heat treatment) stays, most frame builders charge extra for 725 stays (I don't think that 725 fork blades exist) - I paid about £50 extra for 725 stays when I had my ...

Every car that I have had with a 'boot opening' feature on the remote requires you to press the button twice in quick succession.
