Re: What car would suit?

Re: Any recommendations for V-brake blocks (MTB) ?

Disco Brakes http://www.discobrakes.com/ Triple compound 72mm pads £12 for four pairs. Just fitted these to a neighbour's bike with Tektro V brakes and he can now stop on a sixpence (and was scarily easy to lock up both front and rear wheels). Same as what I use, great stopping in the dry or wet.

Re: C&G Finishes - Liverpool

They are still as good as ever.

Just as an aside it can be cheaper to go to them via Steve Goff as he gets all his frames painted there and will probably receive a discount.

eBay is a good source of Fibrax pads, I'm sure they always had a stand at the York Rally.

Re: Driving test: Learners must be able to use sat navs

As someone who has to teach the poor buggers! these changes have been hear-say in the industry for a number of years. The examiner will bring a pre-programmed sat nav with them on the test which the learner will have to set up and follow (grr, even more cleaning of my screen on the inside from the ...

Re: Sunrace cassettes

I had a sunrace 9 speed cassette once, bought as Shimano cassettes were much more expensive at the time. It never indexed properly and would skip in some of the gears - not sure if it was a bad one but it ended up in the bin and was replaced by a Shimano one. As the old adage goes - Buy cheap buy tw...

This is nice - not taken the bikes though, shouldn't be too much of a problem as Steve & Lynne are very accommodating - fab breakfast.
