Re: singletrackbikes.co.uk (ltd.) - A CON?

The socks arrived this morning preceded by an e-mail apologising for the delay due to the weather.

So it isn't a con after all.

Re: whether I have been reccomended appropriate winter clothing

I can't argue with the leg-wear recommendation, but would strongly suggest an alternative to the Gore kit. The Gore is fine if you use a layer system and if you also buy waterproofs. The Gore by itself is over £100 and by the time you've bought the rest it's obviously going to add up and at times i...

Re: singletrackbikes.co.uk (ltd.) - A CON?

I've got a pair of socks on order from them. Taking a while to come so I rang them last week and they said that deliveries were slow due to the weather,as it is in Scotland I suppose I have to give them the benefit of the doubt at present. They managed to debit my credit card though,no problem there...

Re: Spa Cycles (Harrogate)

Having read this saga regarding Spa I don't think they would be the first port of call for my cycling needs ( I have bought a couple of things off them mail order ),I can be insulted anywhere without asking for it. I had a small job done on my Galaxy yesterday by a bike shop not a million miles from...

Membership Dept.......Again.

I renewed mine and my wifes membership for five years back in September. Received our membership cards, which expire in 2015,money paid and all was well. Out of the blue this morning I (not my wife ) received another membership card with the expiry date of 2019. If this is repeated among the membersh...

Re: Touring Bike Purchase?

Steve,

No not particularly I have a Galaxy myself but I knew I had seen them on sale somewhere.

I have heard little bad said about them except someone said the paintwork started flaking after a short while if I remember correctly. But this may have been corrected in later models.

Re: ^^%%%%*%** Couriers

I recently posted a saddle second class that I sold on this forum,at about 2pm on the Tuesday

The recipient was riding it at about 11am the next day.

Well done Royal Mail.

Re: ^^%%%%*%** Couriers

I tend to agree with your sentiments but couldn't a friendly neighbour take it in for you.

We do it all the time and vice versa.

Re: Which B17?

All backsides obviously differ but I had a B17 Standard which I never really got on with.

I switched to an Imperial and find that much more comfortable,YMMV.

It comes pre-holed for lacing and the laces are provided ( in different colours no less ).

Try JD Cycles in Ilkley, can't guarantee they can help you but they sell Cannondale tandems so I imagine they could point you in the right direction.
