Re: Would anyone start a french cycle tour in mid febuary??

Yes but I'd use cheap accommodation at night for a dry warm bed and hot shower

Trans pennine route must be a good candidate.

Re: Bike provision on Beeston tram route and a question

That really is atrocious, how can you call yourself and traffic planner and come up with that? Ride between the tram lanes, holding your position so no one tries to overtake. Those pics should be sent to facility of the month.

I could never understand that. Nice lads from London (or somewhere south) singing rock and roll songs back in 1965.

Great photo! They're all dressed like pensioners!

We are all dressed as pensioners , it just a question of "which era?".

Re: Not My Club Too???

Agree, helmet bit is a red herring. He should have focused on not riding hell for leather, anticipating hazards, choosing an appropriate bike and route for the conditions. Appears he did none of the above. Prevention is better than protection.

Re: Court case witness statement

Discuss it with your solicitor.

But sounds like he's going down the lines of I didn't expect him to be going at that speed and / or you weren't in sight before he pulled out.

1. He's a keen cyclist and knows that you can reach 25mph on a bike.
2. ask him what cadence you'd need to ride at in that gear to reach 25mph.
3. Ask him if all cyclists ride at the same cadence
4. Ask him what cadence you were going at
5. If he doesn't know your cadence how can he know your speed?
6. Ask him that if hypothetically you were going at 25mph was that excessive for that section of road?
7. If it was excessive how come the motor vehicle limit is 30/40/50 etc...?
8. Put it to him that he simply pulled out without ensuring that the way was clear. He made a mistake, pulling out into your path giving you insufficient space to stop.

If he's a keen cyclist then he's a knob for not simply admitting he pulled out and misjudged it. He should Apologise and pay up through his insurance.

It's all to do with the amount of fat in the pancreas. There was a medical paper on just this topic last week.

Re: Why do Dwarfs get special treatment?

This, fewer people want these size frames so shops end up with stock they want to shift with a smaller potential customer pool for them. So discounts are made to get them shifted.
