Re: chain broken - how to fix

Sorry don't know make of chain at the moment. It snapped I THINK (not investigated) because it had a break on one of the plates of one of the links, that I knew off but continued to ride the bike anyway. but my gears are not adjusted at the rear derailleur correctly and the chain went past the bigge...

Re: chain broken - how to fix

I'm pretty sure the chain's not that old. less than 18 months , 1000miles.
I'll check the length, but assuming it's okay, one KMC link should do the job ? I don't need to remove one or two other links too to fit the KMC ?
THanks.

chain broken - how to fix

Hi, One of the links on my 9 or 10 speed chain snapped yesterday.
How would I repair it ? I think I might have a spare detachable link if I can find it.

Re: Thorn Audax upgrades

THanks Brucey/pwa on seat posts. I have time to think about that later so i'll maybe come back to that. Though, what is layback ? Is it the ability to slide the saddle further from the handlebar ? Re: Thorn Audax upgrades

If you're having trouble with hub choice I see nothing wrong with Deore they are good solid reliable hubs. I do have Deore on my Dawes galaxy - never let me down. If the LX are smother, lighter or some other benefit then may be worth buying ? The frame and fork costs £440 with frame prep. Do you th...

"Personally, if you are doing this journey again, I would sell the vouchers and use cash to get a different deal." I think I could still return the bike and get gift cards for Halfords instead, but I though selling the bike would be easier , but maybe i'm wrong. I haven't tried any bikes i...

Re: Thorn vs Vaya,Surly ....

I will use the bike for day trips into the countryside nearby where I live at the weekend, for simple 1 hour runs mid week for fitness, going to the shop, maybe take it to work occasionally, though I have another bike for that. I really think I am keen on the Thorn bike, so please don't spend your t...
