Certainly, and an Ayrshire accent at that. However, I very much doubt that he ever said "OK". That Yank did, in what Mary Maceachran would have described as "no Scots accent that I've ever heard".

Come fill the cup, and in the fire of Spring The tattered garment of Repentance fling. The Bird of Time hath but a little way To fly: and Lo! The Bird is on the Wing! Shame. WvA was one of the best to watch.

Francetvinfo.fr has a gift for losing the video feed at the best bits. They lost it at 300 metres from the finish yesterday. So did I.

Re: First escooter death?

I see quite a few of these things in London, many riding fast on the pavement a few on the road. the police shlould put a stop to them. so now some one has died. Since they are illegal on teh roads ponder the consequences if you have an accident but not killed but injured and need to make a claim? ...

Re: what is the longest German word?

It's nice to be a Preuß
But it's higher to be a Bayer.

Said in the right regional German accent Preuß really does rhyme with nice. The way house does in certain circles.

Re: What is a constitution?

Usually, too, a constitution can only be modified by a two-thirds majority, which means that a party with a large parliamentary majority can write its own rules. If they lose that majority there's a good chance that their successors will not have enough clout to repeal them.

Re: Homeopathy, does it work?

It just crossed my mind that those girls who died of cancer acquired in early 20th-century watch factories were only receiving homeopathic amounts of radium.

Re: 2019 Tour de France: Spoilers!

For years they have avoided the TTT in the TdeF, reckoning that it skews the whole race. This year's course (with the early TTT) will force those who want to win the race to attack to make up losses and furthermore for the strongest team to defend. Even the very strongest team may struggle to defen...

Re: The Green Bicycle Mystery

what struck me was not the murder but the simple fact that something as simple as a bike gave Bella a life she would never had had, made her mobile, if only by 5 miles. We take it all so much for granted now. I remember an old film from the black and white days about this matter with that famous Br...

Re: Anyone for arsenic?

Our tap water comes from a spring in the local hills, and used to taste far better than anything you could buy in a bottle. Then about 10 years ago they decided the arsenic content was too high (about 80% of the statutory limit, i.e. about half of the US limit) and added an extra filtering stage to ...

I have a Zefal Cyclops on the offside. Used to use a Sprintech on the nearside as well but could never get it to stay put, and it was very easily scratched so I ditched it.
