Here in Essex the Chelmsford Group always have a Christmas ride called the Appetiser Run, I think it the Rose & Crown in Great Waltham this year. Not that I will be riding with them, but I will be out on my own for a short spin like I always do, tinsel and all.

CTC Members

According to HQ, CTC members renew their subscription because of CTC work on Campaigning and the CTC Magazine. I joined the CTC many years ago because of it`s name Cyclists Touring Club and it`s third party insurance. These days I only renew because of the third party insurance and committee duties....

I always have some tinsel on the bike at this time of year! I put some on just the other day but yet to go out cycling as I`ve been off the bike for some 5 weeks now due to illness and icy roads.

I use to read CW in the eighties and use to love those articles by Arnold Robinson and Albert Winstanly are these gentlemen still with us? I`ve got a book called `Golden Days Awheel` by Albert Winstanly published in 1991 and signed by him. A great read for the roughstuff cyclists or for those new to...

As you say a phone call would probably have been a lot quicker than post, but with money being a bit tight in my household at the moment and our Group club funds don`t really cover the cost of my phone calls. I went for the `snail post` this way the cost comes out of club funds.
I`m still waiting!

Some 3 weeks ago I sent a nice letter to the CTC asking for some 20 memberships leaflets, the letter was send 1st class (if that means anything these days) and I also put 2 1st class stamps inside to help with there postage as yer do. I`m still wai...

Most DA`s have a Registration Officer and they get a list of new members in their area every few months from the CTC, whether an indivdual could get this information I really don`t know. My Section `sorry` Group always welcome new riders whether they are CTC or not. Non-CTC members are given 6 / 7 o...

I suppose I must be one of the `old guard` of the CTC, as I`ve been on and off a Section Secretary oops sorry member group as we are now, for many moons. I`m just wondering what you guys out there think this new CTC structure will do to help those that ride out with their groups every Sunday? All it...
