Re: Uses for worn-out bike chains

I used the Mick F way once. Seemed like a hassle. I intend to do it occasionally though.

I was asked for ID. Asked for my age and then refused sale. Wasn't asked for my use of the product.

I've emailed Wickes and am waiting for a response.

It must have been unusual to see a sole behind the till. Was it a fish shop or had they suffered a recent flood?

I recently got asked for ID in the supermarket. I'm 50+.

Going through passport control with my dad, the passport official asked me if dad and I were brothers. He's 33 years older than me. So either he looks good for his age or grrrrrrr.

*soul. Better

What were you trying to buy? I've seen 30 year olds get refused but if you got IDed at 50+ and your Dad is in his 80s. Since you two look like brothers, does that mean he get's IDed for drink too

Definitely doesn't have it stamped in like the other number but it could be a misprint or something.

EDIT: I did mean that it probably is 26mm not 260mm

Re: What seatpost do I need?

It says on it

proponent
260
92.11

I assume that means 260mm, and production in Nov 1992

also, if you're painting a wall. i'm intrigued what sort of a wall it is and what sort of paint it is that you need white spirits to clean the brush afterwards?

Okay well not much wall, some drainpipe, supports around the roof terrace. You are correct in that mostly water based paints are needed.

What seatpost do I need?

I recently bought an old Ridgeback hybrid and I need to change some components. I've measured the seatpost diameter best I can and I get 2.5cm. Other ridgebacks from around 1993 seems to be 2.64 so I'm guessing that is the real measurement.

Some more details: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=68801

Could I get away with a 2.68. Something like this:

Update: It's been a couple of weeks now. No word yet from Wickes. I think they're ignoring me.

You could do this:

If you're not up to it. Plenty of stuff gets made out of them. See here for ideas:

Re: Forum User List

They are spiders from various search engines which are snooping around the forum and taking a copy of what happens here and adds them to their respective search engines. So in the future, if you searched "forum user list ctc", this page may appear.

EDIT: Also, for future reference, stick things like this here: viewforum.php?f=14 rather than in Cycling
