which inner tube for 27 x 1 1/4 wheel

Need a new inner tube for a 27 x 1 1/4 wheel. Would it be wise to use some that I already have marked as 700 x 20/28c ? If not should I be buying a specific size?

Re: BB thread / length differences and comaptibilities

The new crankset is the new system, which i am unfamiliar with. It is not square taper. I intend to remove the square taper BB and try use the new outboard one.

BB thread / length differences and comaptibilities

If I buy a nearly new Campag crankset as part of a groupset and it is English thread can I have it fitted to an Italian frame if I buy the correct bits to replace? Bear in mind, given my lack of knowledge in this area, I will probably trundle the whole affair down to the peeps in the backroom at Eva...

Plus you can normally pick them up for 20 quid at bike jumbles and usually in very good condition.

Yes 49D would be my first choice, but not seen any for twenty quid yet!

Re: running a single chainring

Thanks all for replies. I certainly will ensure will only be looking at 3/32 chain. Its a pretty frame, nervex lugs, Youngs of Lewisham, so cosmetics become an issue too! Still not sure what I'll do though...... I have been ebay bidding on various Stronglight and Sugino cranksets and will probably k...

running a single chainring

I have a 531 frame, circa 1956. I am slowly gathering parts to get it back on the road and get a feel for the bike before considering further restoration. So at this moment in time it is not going to be 'period correct' but I do wish to make nods in that direction where desirable and affordable. So ...

SKS mudguard Front bracket

Have just bought a pair of narrow road for the 'winter bike'. Fitting front has been fiddly though I am getting there..... BUT the L shaped mounting bracket touches the bottom of the headset crown race and so doesn't allow mudguard to fully clear (25c) tyre. When I can next get the bike in the kitch...
