Re: Bolt jammed in carbon forks?

Sounds like a captive nut.
Insert caliper from front, allen key from back, tighten.

Bending Tubus roundstay

They are solid rods - they won't fold. Not difficult to bend them symmetrically if you bolt them together. I think I used the spacers that come with the rack. I don't have a vice so have to find someplace in the building where I can wedge them. They are quite strong so it takes a secure wedge and so...

Re: Garmin Edge Tour Plus-couple of questions

I tried getting the Touring Plus to do "just follow the wiggly line" method of navigation and despite my best efforts I didn't find a way. I don't believe it can do it. I sent mine back and bought an 800, which will let you just display the track on the screen if you don't want turn-by-tu...

Yes, I have it on both my iPhone and iPad Mini.

Even better than Kindle is Audible.

Re: Confused on the stack and reach on 2 bicycles

I think I will ride the other bike when I can and see what it feels like. I have not had high bars for awhile and I may even enjoy it! Oddly enough the specialized roubaix has a 19cm headtube which is huge as well (for a 56cm sized bike). What is odd about that? The Roubaix is an endurance bike, so...

Re: Confused on the stack and reach on 2 bicycles

Pretty clearly bike 2 has a taller stack and this will likely result in a higher bar position, effectively shortening the reach as illustrated in this article by Tom Rivendell . If you are looking for a comfortable fit, this is probably a good thing, and since you mention 35c and 45c tyres, we are a...

Re: Where to see Hillegberg tents

If considering Hilleberg, then do yourself a favour and look also at the freestanding models - Allak and Staika. Excellent stability and cross-ventilation and a better fit on small tent pads.

Re: Ortlieb rack pack - which size for back rollers

I have the Roller Plus panniers after I found the Classics vinyl fabric to be heavy, stiff and unyielding. The rack pack is made from the same stiff unyielding vinyl - I bought two sizes but wouldn't take either touring after my first attempt. Also I don't much care for having the bag draped across ...
