Hi, So what do we do on the road to lengthen chain life. Clean often? Then there si a case for how long you spend against cost of chain / other parts. I just thought I'd check my stash of spare inner tubes, before ordering necessary replacements for my dwindling stock of long valve 23x650C tubes, only to find that I have FIVE brand new tubes that I can't even remember buying - bonus :D i checked my 'stash' of inner tubes (700c) as i wanted to fit...

have found an untouched open pro rim of 90s vintage. can't find a record front hub from the same era. I do have a very dusty Chorus front hub (in a wheel) from that era. When Chorus had the grease port just like Record. They look impossibly slender compared to today's hubs. that's the one! it used ...

i sometimes get the shell of the saddle tapping the rails if i sit forward slightly on the seat. it's not a mechanical noise, just 'there.'

being on the cautious side i'd check both the fork blades and, crucially, the steerer tube.

would you happen to know the steerer material? and hence if it is bonded to the fork crown.
