Re: Suitable brakes to use with Edelux / B&M Cyo

having never used a hub dynamo & light i'm unclear on their 'light levels' - do they put an area of light on to the road surface say 10 feet ahead so that the rider can see their way? or are they more lights to 'be seen' with?

Re: What aerodynamics?

without the mudguards your "full tuck - nose down" position is subconciously higher in a bid to get your face out of the spray from the wheels.

Re: Headset bearings

are these merely an example of units badly made so they require frequent replacements?

or is there some real reason why a sealed headset with long lasting bearing are difficult to manufacture? after all it is just a set of bearings that move around a little!

Re: old school winter riding

BTW i found stronglight 86 BCD chainrings to be way way 'out of round' in past years depite rotating them around the crank. just couldn't get even chain tension with them.

Re: old school winter riding

these are the current steeds. most likely going to use the green on-one now it has a new front wheel and larger clearances than the other. it's running 48 x 18 on 144BCD but i might well look to reduce that somewhat. 48 x 21? i've got a small selection of euro asia sprockets from hubjub in the past ...

Re: Winter tyres in narrower sizes?

agreed to go easy whatever tyres you use in winter. i would say however that studded tyres do 'defeat' snow and ice within reason. as for the continental winters in 37c i have recently tried one in a frame with a supposed maximum of 32c with mudguards and they fit no problem using an open pro rim! m...
