If your old seat pin is also Ti, you might be able to polish it back to a fairly lovely state. You can strip anodising off alu pins and polish those, too, if you are keen. If the frame has a burr inside it that caused said scratches to start with, it would be a good idea to deal with that before getting a new seat pin.

Have you tried re-tapping it? Otherwise there is always locktite

Bit off topic but I thought someone on here may know. I have some skateboard bearings (cartridge type) which needed cleaning out and re oiling. I figured may have seized up due to muck or dust getting in there. Upon closer inspection it seems that the oil has turned into some sort of bitty jelly type stuff. I've tried diesel and also heating them up in a pan of water to try get it to shift but it really isn't going anywhere. I've managed to shift a fair bit out by running a drill in the centre and spraying WD40 in there and the inertia has flung most of it out (they are only shielded on one side). However I still have no idea what has happened here. Doesn't seem to be too much rust on them. it's almost like bits off an eraser after you have rubbed something out but pinky/red? They did come from second hand board so I don't know if there has been some sort of reaction between something I and the previous owner has put in? I have only put GT85 in as far as I can remember.

Supremes are the best tyre I have ever ridden. The 'egg' profile make them wonderful to fly round corners. Very comfortable. Had them for around 500 miles and no punctures yet. Only minus is the price

Sounds like you are out on the south of the island. Why not try the north west/east? I think you can take bikes on to the buses there can't you?

Yes tried them and didn't think they were much cop to be honest Lasted around a month. Are those the ones with little sticky back foam things? Found them very annoying!

I did consider those but I have heard of nasty accidents with them jamming up? Unfortunately just bought a new set of 25mm gatorskins so not keen on getting another set! My ride to work is a little bumpy too so 23mm may not be the comfiest

Hi. I have a 531c 700c frame which has eyelets for mudguards but the clearance is very tight. I managed to get a giant defy guard on there with some additional duct tape to secure an extra length of guard here and there as they are made for more compact frames but this is now disintegrating and I need a new one. I like the PDW ones but they are so expensive i can't bring myself to buy them. Any other options out there?

We had this problem. Buying a tandem sorted it

Hello all

I want to make sure the saddle is level as I am having back trouble and want to adjust my set up. First step is to get the saddle level and get the fore aft position sorted However, the saddle does not seem to have a flat top profile and has a definite slight bow to it. Would I be better off getting a new saddle?
