What is the maximum temperature at which these remain tolerably comfortable, in your view?

It is slightly strange that the Tempesta, for warmer weather, is even more expensive than the Estremo.

Unfortuantely I have a broken ankle at present and haven't been on my bike for 6 weeks so can't tell you accurately! I think once it gets to single figures they are good to go. They kept me warm and dry all through the winter

Shim shimmeny

Hello all. I'm looking to use an adjustable ahead stem as a tandem stoker stem but require a shim to make it fit the 27.2 seatpost. Any ideas on the shim size I need? Really struggling to get my head around it!

Spoke cutting  Surprised they lasted 15 years!

Re: Confusingly signed cycle routes

The Netherlands have the best system I have used. Each junction has a number and you simply note down which junction you go to next. E.g. 45,26,47,57,75 etc.

You can see an example here to the right of the screen http://en.nederlandfietsland.nl/en/cycl ... and-guides

Simple, easy and means you can plan your route, then have it written on a piece of masking tape running down your top tube. No Garmin required! ;)

You and yours bbc 4 26th May 2015 - Chris Boardman

I have searched but cant find it on the forum. Should be an interesting programme. Maybe people would like to call in and express an opinion?

Re: Would you have said something?

Turning it more into a request than a finger pointing exercise often helps.

'Hello there, can I just have a quick word. Id really appreciate it if you considered how close you were to me on that overtake'

More often than not they are pretty surprised or apologise. No need to be angry, it simply won't work.

I always take my helmet off too as it makes me appear just to be a person and not a cyclist, seems to work for me!

The "weightlifting" gloves in the first link are sold for £1.99 or £2.49 depending on size.
When they become cycling gloves the price increases to £14.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Swiss-Retro-C ... 2ee04dc86a

Exactly what I was going to suggest ;)

Re: Barend shifters

Jeff31 wrote:Hi Barbelfisher

My left hand lever (9sp) can be set with one indexed position, I adjust the cable so that it corresponds with the middle ring and then use the adjuster screws on the front mech to get the inner and outer rings. This effectively means it works as an indexed shifter with a triple. By keeping the rear mech on sprockets appropriate to the chainring I don't need to even trim the front changer to avoid rubbing. Of course with a double the adjuster screws are all you need.
If your left changer doesn't have the indexing try reassembling it, the bits can be rotated in 90 degree steps before being put together again. Discovered this by accident as I didn't get the instructions so can't advise what Shimano actually say.

Hope this helps.

I will be trying this out on our tandem and my soon to be completed LHT, fabulous idea :D
