Re: Unnoticable Helmet Suggestion Please

But worse than all of these things put together... is the noise of other people's music. Urgh. How often have I wanted to tell people on trains that they need better headphones- the hard white things that come with iphones are shockingly bad for this. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ this a vote for Met Helmets as wel...

Re: London Bridge - what is going on?

^^^^^^ this Though if you want to see suicidal tourists stepping out in the road/bus lane - try Westminster Bridge. Fine in the morning - not many around at 08:00 - but at 17:00 - stepping out to get a wide angle on their photo of the London Eye or the Houses of Parliament/Big Ben. Plus ice cream va...

Re: London Cycle Guides

The Central London guide (along with Kensington/Chelsea, and Stratford/Olympic Park) are currently showing out of stock on the TFL website at the moment - so I am not sure what stock the Travel information centres will have. There is one at Victoria station - I will be going down there at lunchtime ...

Re: Traffic calming makes me mad

The flat brick cobble things on Belvedere Road http://g.co/maps/ftk4c are a pain. They don't look too bad in the Google Map shot, but they sure rattle heck out of me and my Brompton (there is another set further along as well). I have taken to turning right into Chicheley Street, left onto York Road...

Re: Brompton telescopic seat post and rolling the Brompton

Thanks Bob. Having never seen one in action - do you think it is possible to raise the post up to a height suitable for a shorter rider? i.e. you aren't limited to only using it for taller riders - just pull up the bottom half to the usual place and then not pull up the second part? Sorry for the si...

Re: Ortlieb Ultimate 5 bag - shoulder strap attachment - hel

Thanks Rick. The solution (in my case) was, bizarrely, after ages pushing, pulling and prodding, was to put the bag on my shoulder and lo and behold, it clicked into place in the way I thought it should. It just wouldn't do that on a flat surface or my lap .......

Brompton telescopic seat post and rolling the Brompton

Can anyone with a Brompton and a telescopic seat post confirm that if you put the bottom part of the post down, but leave the top part up (so the saddle is at, say, hip height), the fold is locked and you can push it around on a smooth surface (with Eazy Wheels). I currently use the handlebar push m...

Ortlieb Ultimate 5 bag - shoulder strap attachment - help!

If anyone has one of these bags - can anyone advise about the shoulder strap, or am I going mad? I have just bought a Mini O Bag for my Brompton - which is essentially an Ultimate 5 bag but with the Brompton luggage attachment. The bag comes with the right hand part of the shoulder strap secured to ...

Re: Hi-Viz

I ride a Brompton in normal office clothes - at the moment, I am wearing a standard, lightweight M&S trenchcoat in a bright salmon/coral pink (says red on the label, but it looks a bright pink). When I stop at the lights in Parliament Square, I am surrounded by lots of other bikes, 99% of the ri...

Re: SHORT full-length Lycra bottoms

3/4 Lengths might work quite well, even if they come up slightly short. I have a 27" inside leg (5ft 2 lady) and my 3/4 from Tenn Outdoors, via Amazon, come to mid calf on me. They are only £17.99, very comfy, and quite generous size wise. I have exactly the same problem, which is why I don't h...

Re: 'Short' ladies cycle shorts

Bert That would be perfect - though I will have to order one to see how it fixes into anything. Its exactly the right type of pad though, I have these in my Tenn Outdoors and Scott shorts. I could probably put them inside some cheap hotpant length running shorts. Masher - thanks for the Corinne Denn...

'Short' ladies cycle shorts

Anyone know of any decent padded shorts that don't end at the lower thigh area, and don't cost a small fortune (like Gore ones do)? Preferably black. I ride a Brompton in normal clothes but with the shorts, or 3/4 tights (both from Tenn Outdoors), hidden underneath and in the winter, over the standa...

Brompton seatpost sticking

Can any Brompton riders on here help me out? I have just test ridden a lovely condition S2LX. Rides beautifully, in generally good condition. The only sticking point (literally) is that when folding or unfolding (more of an issue with folding really), the seat post sticks on the way down and you hav...
